We need to make sure Hillary is accounted for at the moment he walks out the door.

So what's the backstory here?

I'll believe it when I see it. No way he makes to the US alive I fear.

When Chealsea Manning's sentence is commuted, Julian will come to America and stand trial.
Sean Hannity is gaga on the possibility.

On what charges?

Assange has never availed himself to US law. He will be extradited to Swedentp face his rape allegations.

He's wanted for rape in Sweden. They'll probably get him before the Feds do.

He's not wanted for rape. Why do you post nonsense? Sweden wants to question him over a request from a consensual sex partner to take an STD test

Sweeden has already come and talked to him and is not wanted there anymore. Only in America. Where he has a warrant that is secret, but everyone knows about.

Last I read, he's still wanted in Sweden for a lesser rape charge.
Their statutory definition of rape had different layers than ours. As Josh said, he's not wanted for non consensual sex.

He was cleared of the charge

What bargain? He's not charged with anything in the US, just with rape in Sweden.

OK, question. Did Assange say he would leave the embassy if Obama commuted Manning OR pardoned? If assange said "pardon" then I can see him staying put and not leaving.

At one point he was cleared, then higher ups got involved. Then the statute of limitations expired on some potential charges.
He still isn't charged, but everything I've read, he's still wanted for questioning in Sweden.

He said he'd leave if Manning was grabbed clemency

You totally skipped over the report from his lawyer this morning that the Manning commutation didn't satisfy Assange's conditions?
“Mr. Assange welcomes the announcement that Ms. Manning's sentence will be reduced and she will be released in May, but this is well short of what he sought,” said Barry Pollack, Assange’s U.S.-based attorney, via email.
“Mr. Assange had called for Chelsea Manning to receive clemency and be released immediately.”
