Someone has the pharmaceutical drug lobby deep, deep in his pockets.

He's the same republican that wants to have a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. idk how he keeps getting elected. Republicans have been fighting medical marijuana tooth and nail in Arkansas

And this is where the GOP loses the high ground when it comes to freedom. Stay out of people's bedrooms and personal lives and get that libertarian vote.

GOP says it's the party of personal rights but they impose religious based laws banning alcohol doesn't make much sense

What area of the state does he represent? Rural Faulkner County, right?
He's a terrible person.

Jesus didn't just drink wine, he made wine for others to enjoy.

He's tying to position himself for a governor or senate run

Why does he speak for all republicans, but the republican senate does not?

It's a strange way to approach it. Most people, conservatives included, don't like the guy.

Play to a true believer base that will turn out for you, hope to come in first in a crowded, contentious primary, and take your chances in the general. It's a plausible, if longshot, strategy.

Lot of good Democrats in Arkansas, time to fight

Absolutely, but I think it's a mistake to assume these people are the thrust of the Republican party right now--the same sort of mistake that shocked the piss out of out-of-touch HRC supporters.
With the exception of a few notable outliers (both bad national/state policies and some kooks like Rapert), and some ill-advised DJT statements, the R party has pulled much closer to the center while the Dems continue to move the goalpost for "the left" deeper into the nutterlands.

I hear this a lot and yet continue to see nothing but Internet/media warriors, ill-defined "marches" and slander campaigns.
Where do I sign up to actually fight? What am I fighting?
Or is this just about marijuana? If we can define the issues --problems and solutions, then I'll def join. I have always said marijuana is a weathervane issue, in addition to the normative substantive aspects of legalization.
