It never ceases to amaze me that conservatives don't trust the government to administer a food stamp program but do trust it to carry out executions of its citizens

And it never ceases to amaze me that liberals like yourself value the lives of criminals, terrorists and child molesters above normal every day Americans

The men make up nearly a quarter of Arkansas's death row. All eight were convicted of murders committed between 1989 and 1999, but none have taken the final walk to the execution chamber. That is because Arkansas' capital punishment has been held up since 2005 by numerous legal challenges and the state's consistent struggle to obtain lethal injection drugs.

The shocking twist your post's title implies is what?

Hopefully, the cold blooded murderer of Scott Stobaugh (1993) will soon be added to that roster.

This is another one of the interesting debates, and opinion is based soley on ideology.

I think the death sentence should be applied only to cases where the person confesses or there is concrete evidence such as video. Then allow no appeals in these cases. Put them to death by exposing them to low O2. The person will become euphoric and pass gently. Humane, cheap, and easy.

I don't mind cold killers and child murderers to be taken from this Earth in these type cases.

So in your mind there is an equivalency between getting food stamps...something you can do in a short period of time with no ID..and a lengthy trial, appeals, sentencing, more appeals, etc, a process that taken 10-20 years?

See....this is why people can't take liberals seriously.

Do a bit of research into the Reid Technique.

According to the Innocence Project, 25% of the individuals fully exonerated by DNA in post-conviction had confessed or made incriminating statements prior to trial.

So when are you going to turn your home into a halfway house for released death row inmates?

I'm anti-death-penalty, but the food stamps v. capital punishment admin "equivalence" is kinda dumb.

Speaking of dumb, that's an almost staggering false equivalency

Would you prefer that this be contracted out to private industry?

Because determining a particular punishment after years of investigation and deliberation over a singular event is exactly the same as constantly monitoring the current status and situation of millions of individuals.

And I'm fairly neutral at best over the death penalty. And even I think your statement is incredibly fricking stupid.

ETA: Dale51 beat me to it.

That's a heck of a wide brush you paint with sir.

I'm as conservative as the next clear thinking individual and I adamantly oppose the death penalty.
