"It's a sin" etc- Why do you care if other people are sinning? Since when is it the government's job to enforce religious ideals?

"It will ruin the sanctity of marriage"- If you're worried about your marriage being tarnished because gays are getting married than you probably have a pretty shitty marriage. Grow a pair and get a divorce.

"I don't think gay marriage should be legalized because I don't think the government should be involved in marriage"- FWIW I don't think the government should be involved in marriage either, but this is a dumb argument. It's like saying "I don't think marijuana should be legalized, because the government should just legalized ALL drugs!". Allowing unions between consenting adults is a step TOWARDS getting the government out of marriage.

"There are more important issues right now than gay marriage"- I agree, but it matters to the gay people. Let's just fricking legalize it so that they stop complaining and we don't have to talk about it anymore.

I have zero cares about gay marriage. I could not care less what two homosexuals do with themselves. This issue effects me in no shape, form, or fashion. There are 1.6% of Americans that are gay. There's no need to pander to this amount of people, IMO.

Let them marry, frick, fight, divorce, etc. This has absolutely nothing to do with our national debt, national security, out of control government, energy independence, immigration issue, foreign affairs, or unemployment rates at this point in time. I want someone to address the real issues we are staring down a barrel at and meet them head on.

Gay marriage is not an issue. End of story.

If gay is a choice... why special treatment.

If it is genetic. .. why give mutants privealages ...eta: meaning it takes an X and Y to continue the species. ..

Lately, the impression I get from social conservatives leads me to think that this is a take their ball home approach. If they can't have it to themselves, nobody can have it either.

I used to think it was a good idea but not so much after further research.

Arguments against gay marriage

If gays get married, the amount of gay sex goes down and that will mean my stock in astroglide and Ky will go down.

I have no real argument. I used to oppose it because being gay is a sin but I have changed to know where I don't care because that is for them to answer to one day not me.

Because its a golden opportunity to get govt out of the marriage business and allow adults to form contracts with one another. Just legalizing it fixes the problem but surrenders the opportunity. But sentrius is right, that probably won't ever happen, so I got nothing.

Then they want to sue churches for not recognizing their marriages...on and on it will go.

More divorce, more custody, more inheritance battles

Sin = problems

Great for lawyers though

That's the thing about creating a protected class, they never, ever, ever, ever stop complaining.

Because it's a sin. It's really the only argument that matters. As a Christian I believe God is the source of all objective moral values. I serve God and follow his word. Therefore if God believes homosexual sex is an abomination then that is the view I follow. The bible states repeatedly that marriage is between a man and a woman. Unfortunately for the politically correct crowd in this country God does not bend to what you consider to be ok.
However, if you do not believe in God then there are no objective moral values in your mind. Therefore you are free to create your own value system. For instance gay marriage, killing unborn babies, etc.
this argument will always come down to God, and there will always be an argument so long as you have Christians willing to fight for what is right in Gods eyes

What makes one sin worse than another? since we are all sinners.
