Are Milo and Shapiro fighting for the heart of modern conservatism?

It is no secret that these two characters don't like each other. They both champion free speech, but Milo tends to display his support of free speech by pushing the boundaries on his actual speech and being a provocateur. I don't think Milo is unintelligent, in fact I think there is a method to his madness.
Shapiro dislikes Milo for his lack of tact. He also criticizes a number of Milo's statements as appalling such as telling a Muslim woman in the audience "why are you wearing a hijab, what's wrong with you?". Milo, on the other hand, views Shapiro as "establishment friendly".
Milo is basically the king of the internet trolls, something of which Shapiro despises because his entire view on how we actually make the country better is to do so through debate and reason.
I find this dynamic interesting and I wonder if these two can come together at some point or if they will stay divided.

Both aren't real conservatives. Sure they can be useful but milo is a cog in the degenerate machine and Shapiro is a cryptocuck.

I don't think it has to be either or. They each occupy a section, some overlapping, of the conservative feelings. We shouldn't be forced into picking, despite their personal distaste for each other

They both think progressivism is a cancer so they have that going for them

Ben Shapiro. There's just something about him that says, "I need my arse kicked".

seriously, seriously doubt it
Shapiro is pretty unwavering in his stance(s). Milo's a bit more fluid in his takes. I think Ben views Milo as more of a "shock-jock" and will bend his views to fit that narrative which garners him more attention.
Shapiro's break with Breitbart was not friendly. I think he put up with Milo because he had to, but never really was a big fan. Shapiro sees both Milo and Bannon as two sides of the same coin, both whom never really denounced that extreme 'alt-right' when they supported both of them during the election cycle.

Milo is an idiot who is playing a role, and people are lapping it up.

Milo is better for taking and actually winning a culture war vs the left.
Ben is better once culture war is won. You can't fight dems with one arm tied behind your back due to class and what not. It's how we got so far behind in everything

Milo is a clown and needs to stay out of the spotlight.

Ben is to Milo as Batman is to the Joker, Jon Snow is to Ramsay, and Wes Mantooth is to Ron Burgundy. They will always hate each other and see each other as the other's arch enemy. As the Joker said "I think that you and I are destined to do this forever". That rivalry will never die.

I should also add that on the day of his child's birth, Milo tweeted Ben this image which escalated to his followers tweeting to Ben images of he and his family being pushed into ovens:
He will never, ever forgive Milo for ruining the day of his child's birth.

Ben Shapiro is a conservative political philosopher whose primary methodology is to persuade using facts, logic and reason. Shapiro is also socially conservative.
Milo is socially liberal (liberal, not progressive). Milo's primary methodology is to act like an obnoxious dandy boy and prance around on the precious, protected flowers cultivated in Left's garden of social Marxism. Milo uses wit, insult, and comedy to address primarily social issues.
Neither is fighting for the heart of modern conservatism because there exists room for both. Shapiro is the intellectual and Milo is the activist.
If the Alternative Right is to succeed in taking over the establishment Republican party we need people like Ben Shapiro to carry the torch as a conservative thinker and Milo to pitch out a tent leg over at least some social liberals, i.e, classic social liberals - privacy, small government, freedom of individuality, etc. People who are otherwise put off by socially conservative Republican policies.

I'm going to stop you there and call you completely fricking ignorant to a glorious degree on what the Alternative Right is. The Alternative Right (ie Alt-Right) is a racist White Supremacist movement. Ben Shapiro, even over Hillary, was their #1 target last year. Despite writing a piece on them last year, Milo also disavows them calling them human garbage who should be totally ridiculed. Their mutual goals are to take down the Alt-Right. They are by no means the face of it.
I'm going to say that you are gloriously ignorant over being a racist due to you thinking these two represent the Alternative Right, and not Richard Spencer and Jared Taylor. Both would tell you to go frick yourself for even accusing them of being members of the Alternative Right.

Your incorrect understanding of the term Alternative Right suggests that your vocabulary is influenced by the MSM and that you lack any real understanding of the current political landscape.
Carry on.
Carry on.

This Ben Shapiro?
Ben Shapiro, the conservative writer, prides himself on speaking bold truths to liberal power. His shtick goes something like this: Set up a speech in a progressive bastion, ideally a college campus full of coastal elites who have never left their bubble. Spar with snowflakes who are offended by something he says about race or gender and perhaps even believe he never should have been invited in the first place. Post the exchange on the internet and use it as proof that the cultural consensus is stacked
What Mr. Shapiro does on campus is shadow boxing meant to pander to his conservative fans whose values dominate mainstream American culture. If he wanted to be genuinely brave, he’d challenge some of the wrongheaded ideas held by his right-wing fans. Instead, he uses his megaphone — the website The Daily Wire — to reinforce what they already believe.

What are you talking about? Both Milo and Shapiro very vocally disavow it. They both call it a racist ideology. It has very directly come out of both of their mouths. If you were to call them Alternative Right to their faces, they'd both tell you to go frick yourself and that you're ignorant at best.
Seriously, look up any video of them talking about the Alt-Right in the past year, and report back to me if they want to be associated with that movement, especially Shapiro who was their #1 target last year.
And to this dumbass poster, here's Milo this week directly dissing the Alt-Right and calling them racists: LINK
