From AP. Basically Macron good Le Pen bad...yada yada yada

French politicians on the left and right immediately urged voters to block Le Pen's path to power in the May 7 runoff, saying her virulently nationalist anti-EU and anti-immigration politics would spell disaster for France.
quote:
Extremism can only bring unhappiness and division to France defeated conservative candidate Francois Fillon said. As such, there is no other choice than to vote against the extreme right
quote:
It set up a battle between Macron's optimistic vision of a tolerant France and a united Europe with open borders against Le Pen's darker, inward-looking "French-first" platform
quote:
With a wink at his cheering, flag-waving supporters Macron promised to be a president "who protects, who transforms and builds" if elected.
quote:
Le Pen, in a chest-thumping speech to cheering supporters
quote:
Mathilde Jullien, 23, said she is convinced Macron will beat Le Pen. "He represents France's future, a future within Europe," she said. "He will win because he is able to unite people from the right and the left against the threat of the National Front and he proposes real solutions for France's economy."
Fillon said he would vote for Macron on May 7 because Le Pen's program "would bankrupt France" and throw the EU into chaos. He also cited the history of "violence and intolerance" of Le Pen's far-right National Front party

It's funny they got a literal Rothschild investment banker with a 65 year old wife to run against Nationalism in France. Unreal!

I don't understand the love for Le Pen. I don't care for either of them, but Le Pen is a nut job herself on everything but immigration.

That's the thing though, she right wing on immigration, and left-wing socialist on everything else. She's basically Bennie Sanders on steroids who wants to close the borders. Yet, conservatives love her on this board. Makes no fricking sense.

I also don't care for either just pointing out how slanted this AP article (front of Yahoo news) is in favor of Macron.

It is a lot easier to recover from socialist policies you don't like than genocide of your own race. You get to a point where you can't out vote the people that want to kill you since they have majority vote.

Open borders for Europeans is fine.
The problem is that it isn't Europeans flooding in.
It's like having A Halloween block party where people can go from house to house. It's all fine if it's people from the neighborhood.
If you have busses full of miscreants from the local ghetto streaming in and starting trouble it goes to shite real quick.

So you would vote someone just on their willingness to close the borders despite the fact that the want central national bank, suppress all religion, tax at a rate of 75% for businesses, etc. Essentially, if Trump was right on immigration but also antigun, pro-abortion, higher taxation, centralized banking, single payer health, and on and on you would still vote for him simply because of immigration?
Again, I'm not saying that either candidate is anywhere close to being a good one, just that Le Pen is a nut job herself.
And no one is committing genocide against white people in France. I don't even know how to respond to this it's so far removed from truth.

Europe needs to find their balls again and quit becoming an extension of the Middle East. That's why people want to see her succeed. That's why we voted for Trump. That's why Brexit passed.
Most white people don't really want to find our countries overrun with Muslim extremists or find ourselves with a Muslim blade against our throat.

She's so far from being aligned with anything this board seems to value outside of immigration that it's not even funny.

You ever notice how quickly the media people and places are given this label but people and nations are never called communist when they clearly are just that?
It's all about the messaging.

Europeans are the largest group of immigrants to France though. The last data suggests that they are 38% of new arrivals with 35% coming from the Mahgreb.
The issues with French Mahgrebis goes back decades and will be difficult to fix for either Macron or Le Pen, given that their parties have very little representation in the National Assembly. The issues with migrants is a different issue, and has to be addressed at the EU level for a long term solution.

suppress all religion,
Islam wants to do this and they want to do that by taking advantage of the west generosity and freedom it offers to produce a caliphate on the west.
Basically turning western values and principles against themselves.

As far as I'm aware, The EU has shown no indication that they're willing to do what's necessary to keep Europe a majority western society and keep the caliphate in the mideast.
If they can't do it or not willing to do it, they must be eliminated.

You are either on the left or the faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar right

Do you think the EU wanted the migrant crisis?
The failure is not only the EU's. The failure has to do with the post-WWII refugee system put in place. There are more refugees now than in 1992. This refugee crisis began in earnest in 2001. The EU was unprepared just like most of the West was. For example, one of the countries with the largest refugee populations, Iran, has 3 million Afghan refugees. Yet it has only registered 1 million. For the 2 million remaining there is no incentive to stay because they are treated like 2nd class citizens and no incentive to return to Afghanistan as the war there is reaching into its 16th year. 20 percent of European migrants are Afghan refugees, many of whom were born into statelessness.
There isn't a real, clear solution to be had, other than to acknowledge that the refugee system that was set up after WWII has failed by and large. There should be real discussions about developing a system that can deal with the refugee crisis as it is now.
