What spending? He's been in office like 30 something days.

Take a look at the amount spent on the Trump family so far and compare that to the amount spent on the Obama family. Trump will spend more on his family in one year than Obama did in 8.

This wouldn't be a big deal if the Trump supporters hadn't made such a big deal about it with Obama.

We are in a 'perfect storm' re the Economic dynamics, p. Of course we should be "concerned with President Trump's spending"; but the ugly truth is that we either spend and kick the reckoning day down the road...or collapse.

There are technologies in the near future - if we avert societal calamity - that can virtually render the current Economic Paradigm moot. There will be joblessness at levels never before imagined, and the very (Natural/Darwinian/merit-based) criteria for the survival and prosperity of individuals and groups...will be an open moral dilemma. Subsidize the wrong individuals - for whatever reason of good intent - and hell breaks loose.

Bottom line. We need to spend as never before...but WISELY so. Because if we can get over the hump...crash, boom...it all changes. If society collapses into anarchy...forget high tech. Like Einstein said: "I don't know what weapons will be used to fight WWIII...but I know what weapons will be used in WWIV. Stick and stones". (paraphrase).

Right.. You should be. The OP is talking about peanuts.

The OP is talking in terms of millions.

Trump's budget at the end of March will be presented to congress in terms of trillions.

Yet, every trumpkin (and Trump himself) spent the last eight years bitching and moaning about every nickel and dime spent on the Obama family. Now, suddenly, people should only worry about macro spending.

How long was Michelle Obama's vacation with friends bitched about here? That was just millions. Why didn't the right only concern themselves with the items that we spent trillions on?

I used to believe this. I wouldn't worry so much about this. If this happens, it'll be a gradual transition. I've read a lot about it and am still not convinced it does.

If that's not a cop out, what is? Trump is the biggest 'snowflake' of them all.

Far too few are.

ETA ^ is meant as a general comment on his spending intentions. IDGAF about any president's security or travel spending.

We have a trillions problem

Anyone that cares about security costs of the president, Trump or O, is missing the point

Do concern trolls work if you literally put concern in the title?

"Vacation spending" isn't the issue.

Government budget deficit spending is.
And I'm not overly encouraged about where we are headed there. It's probably really just too late for us to make the necessary course corrections.

So, LP...you don't believe that Robotics, AI, Genetic Engineering, Quantum Mechanics, etc. will have a major effect on Economics? Have you read the Book "Abundance"?

I think the issue critical to the very survival of contemporary Civilization will be our ability or inability to manage the social/economic impact of said technological knowledge/power. And of course, there is the 'Religion' card.

Fascinating time.

Were you this concerned with Obama's extravagant spending and golfing? How 'bout Mich Landreau's trips to Rome and Bell Edwards doing the same?? jAnd Bobby Jindal's travel expenses??

Just asking.

Obama goes golfing: "HE'S USING OUR TAX DOLLARS TO GOLF, frick HIM!!!!"
Trump spends an entire years worth of Obama's budget in 2 months: "HE'S THE PRESIDENT, LEAVE HIM ALONE, HE CAN DO WHATEVER HE WANTS!!!"

The only thing I don't like so far is the proposed "infrastructure" leviathan. I'll try and wait until there are more details about it, but typically these things are major wasters that benefit only the politicians and their pals.

This is just another example proving that Trump supporters don't want smaller government or less spending. They just want to control the government and the spending.

I love this illogical conclusion.

I am a Trump supporter.
I voted for him after the primaries.

I want smaller government and less spending.

That is exactly what I got by voting for him vs Hillary SMALLER gov and LESS spending.

This does not mean no gov and no spending or even the smallest gov and least spending.

Nor does it mean that Trump's spending is in line with exactly what I want. But it does most closely match my wants.

See, claiming I don't want small gov and less spending because I am getting less gov and less spending just not to the degree you project as a goal is silly.

The spending that I was really mad at Obama for was the Stimulus that was given to the banks. Basically all the banks did was buyout other banks and the CEOs and high company members got raises. I am sure some of that money also found its way to the Clinton Foundation as well.

he probably meant something subtly different by "Trump supporters"

there's definitely a meaningful distinction between a Trump voter and someone I would call a trumpkin
