re: Any good potential republicans to run against JBE next go round?

A bit out of the loop since I'm in California and not Louisiana, but what's been so bad about JBE? I see that he actually has a fairly solid approval rating in the state. I just want to know what he's been doing that y'all approve and disapprove of besides just being a Democrat. Also IMO, Vitter was a POS who doesn't deserve a 2nd chance at becoming governor.

He's taxing us out of the arse with nothing to show for it.
He refuses to cut spending and instead is spending more money than we actually have with nothing to show for it.
He's increasing or at least trying to increase the size of the state government to levels Edwin Edwards and Huey Long would approve of.
He put us on the hook for a massive medicaid expansion that is over budget with way too many people on it and that will rape our state budget and it is something we cannot afford at all in the long run, especially after the feds stop paying.
He threatened TOPS in the most inappropriate and disingenuous way possible by going after LSU football.
He's sue happy going after the private sector including the largest employer in Louisiana for easy and quick shakedowns of money.
He's completely fricking up the dissension plans for flood recovery money from the feds and there's possible corruption behind it.
He's giving away hundreds of millions of our dollars to the film industry and that isn't producing and significant ROI in economic impact, jobs and total revenue.

Not for long.

Nah, He doesn't deserve to be Governor because he ran a shitty campaign that was way too comfortable and overconfident and let JBE into the runoff without laying a hand on him.

I don't think the anger for JBE extends far outside of this forum.

I've heard this is actually expected from the folks in the inner circles. Heard that more than once.

I wouldn't want to be in JBE's shoes for this election.
Agree with this, but will add the exploding deficit due the the medicaid expansion and the scheduled reduction of federal funding.
JBE better start buying lottery tickets.

It's quiet right now but what happens when the election starts heating up and the GOP candidates starts attacking him instead of each other and President Trump who's really popular here is campaigning against him? Sure, GOP candidates will make a case against each other but it will be toned down and the big mistake of 2015 letting him go untouched is not going to be repeated again.
JBE still has a hell of a very narrow, extremely narrow path to winning a second term. He could still win but he's going to have to fight very hard for it.

Are you in the public or private sector? Honest question.
I ask because folks like me who are in Biz & Industry are livid and are willing to give time and/or money to candidates that can dethrone him

I'm just going off a hunch but I think Steve scalise would run

LABI swung their big dicks at him pretty hard this past weekend. One of these races was ran by the patriots and prostitutes ad guy and he lost pretty comfortably.

Scalise isn't giving up being Whip to run for Governor

Jeff Landry will run and hopefully win.
Would ya'll vote for me if I ran?

I could see Fleming and/or Strain running, but Fleming and Landry are both Vitter guys. They're not going to run against each other.

The last poll I saw had JBE at a mid-60's approval rating. It is a mistake for Republicans to think JBE will be easily beaten in 2019.

Absolutely, Johnson in the 4th was also a Vitter guy so he and Fleming gave him the machine. Landry is the natural challenger to Edwards.
