Yep, the narrative is being set, by the girlfriend via the mother, and the violence has begun. Reuters on Yahoo:

quote:

Police said the man who was killed had pointed a handgun at an officer who was conducting a "routine business check" and had approached two men outside the gas station after 11 p.m. (0500 GMT) in the suburb of Berkeley.

"Fearing for his life, the Berkeley Officer fired several shots, striking the subject, fatally wounding him," St. Louis County Police Department spokesman Brian Schellman said in a statement. The second man fled the scene.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch named the dead man as 18-year-old Antonio Martin, citing his mother, who said he was with his girlfriend around the time of the shooting.

"They won't tell me nothing. His girlfriend told me that the police was messing with him," the man's mother, Toni Martin, told a local broadcaster. "When he was trying to get up and run, they start shooting."

quote:

Local broadcaster KSDK reported people hurled rocks and bricks toward police.

I haven't seen the race of the policeman reported yet. Hmmm. Has the hate shifted from white police to all police?

Was there video of that occurring?

God, I swear, some of you all get stuck on stupid

And I don't think you are stupid, you are usually a good poster. I just don't understand how you don't see the difference.

Exact reason the police need to release the security footage from the gas station.

Get ahead of the bullshite, just like the suicide by cop that happened outside of St Louis, and it all goes away.

Don't these people have jobs, families, or at least some Christmas shopping they should be taking care of?

No video, but plenty of evidence.

Thank you for the compliment, I think

There is already evidence: the perp's gun.

What if there is no clear footage? Are we at the point where we have to have video evidence before rational judgment can be made?

Will crime scene investigation, should it validate the officer's account, be enough (as it should be and is in most incidents), or will the marchers/rioters start with a "no pictures no proof" chant?

Saw an interview from a guy that had been arrested during the protest at the scene and one of the first comments he made was "I don't know what happend but......"

If you don't know what happened WTF are you protesting for? I have a hint for people that are upset at "police violence,"

DON'T POINT GUNS AT COPS AND IT EXPONENTIALLY REDUCES YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING SHOT BY ONE.

Free advice in the spirit of the holiday season.

And plenty of others who contradicted those... I think Brown charged the officer, but to compare unreliable witness testimony to video evidence is idiotic.

If no ambulance was called, that's legitimately a problem, but you don't have that problem IF YOU DON'T PULL A GUN ON A COP.
