re: Another (probable) consequence of higher taxes

quote:

NO I stand by my point that anyone who thinks he is paying anywhere near 62% is dumb. That was the point, I am still not sure what your point is other then you have tried to claim multiple time he could be but have not shown how that could be the case.

You say he may be stating some truth, what is some truth regarding the amount of taxes you pay. There is a number at the end, and for Phil Michelson that number is not 62%, there is no SOME truth

Ok Otto. you win. I'm not going over taxable income vs. gross income with you again. I have said many many times in this thread, you are probably correct on what Mickelson meant. But I disagree if you dont think there is an argument that the top rate he will pay on taxable income after all taxes it could possible be subjected to could come remotely close to 62% I'll take being called dumb for that.

reading comprehension P'man. How many times have I said your assumptions are probably right in this thread? 5, 6? Here is a refresher for you:

quote:

Now...do I think what Mickelson meant was taxable income. No. Do I think he knows how the tax code works? No. Do I think he is accurate at 62% even if we are talking "taxable Income", No. Do I think you are a douche for calling others dumb, when you obviously have zero understanding of the code. Yes

I understand you need to be a douche to feel better about yourself. That's cool.

That's the rub isn't it. There are certain places that are more desirable then others for a number of reasons including the availability and salary level of jobs.

Now for a pro golfer it is an easy thing to up and move, but for others who have to find a comparable job it is not so easy. In many cases they might be better off staying in the higher tax state.

BY the way, for anyone who wants to move from California to Florida, you might also want to look at property taxes. In california it is really low, Florida not so much. That 10% you save in state income taxes may be offset by the extra 3 or 4% on property taxes on a home that is valued at multiple times your annual income.

In your rush to callpeople on here dumb and to call me dumb you have missed the point I have made several times.

Got me there. Did not notice you only multiplied it accross 110k. I saw it was included and assumed you used it for the entire income and jumped at the chance to prove you wrong there. 1 point for you.

This entire thread was an epic fail of everyone jumping on board with something that they should have immediately sniffed out as bull shite. Especially a tax attorney of all people.

That is from page 3. yet here we are hours later, you still showing a severe lack of comprehension skills.

This is what I said

Your "immediate" reaction was to take the number at face value
quote:

Of course there will be deductions. The logic failure is that you are ok with a large portion starting at 63 percent. That's the complaint. Deductions don't change if he is in california or florida. It isn't a difficult concept otto.
