Another media apology coming?: CNN no longer thinks a racial slur was used

LINK /

Recently, CNN enhanced audio of George Zimmerman — the man who shot Trayvon Martin — to try and determine if he did, in fact, use a racial slur while calling police on the night of the shooting. Back then, it sounded like Zimmerman might have used the phrase “fu**ing coons,” and his critics have cited it as evidence of a racially-motivated attack. But now CNN has enhanced the audio again, and the reporter is casting doubts that the term was used.

"It certainly sounds like that word to me,” Gary Tuckman said when the audio was first enhanced. But after the latest enhancement, he’s not so sure:

“Now it does sound less like that racial slur. … From listening in this room, and this is a state-of-the-art room, it doesn’t sound like that slur anymore. It sounds like … we‘re hearing the swear word at first and then the word ’cold.’ And the reason some say that would be relevant, is because it was unseasonably cold in Florida that night and raining.”

Who knows what really happened, but I think it is pretty easy to see that an agenda of the media has been exposed. I never remember a mainstream story with so many retractions and false assumptions.

If he didn't say anything like that, an apology should be given.

Here is the rub.....the damage has already been done.

How far can it go? Can the media incite a riot by reporting blatantly false information but not be held accountable because they apologized afterward? There are certain standards that are not being met.

they were reporting fairly.

That's why they "apologize" where no one will see it.

I wonder if Al will start protesting CNN for not sticking to the narrative?

Right.

Just imagine a news headline:

"CptBengal a person of interest in terrorist plot". People go out with pitchforks looking for you. Your friends turn against you. You lose your job. Neighborhood watch captains post your picture on their range targets. MSNBC interviews a Hamas expert who claims that you are a bomb expert and a racist.

Your family abandoned their home and moves into a hotel. People protest at your business for weeks. You lose customers.

Meanwhile, back at Commie News Network, it turns out they were looking for CptCrunch and an apology was issued.

Is an apology enough?

Pretty much the same level as Spike Lee tweeting some random person's address to an angry mob.

This would be a funny situation if it wasn't so serious. GZ will never live a normal life now regardless of if he is charged or acquitted.

My point is that there is no accountability. A media outlet can incite a riot with no repercussions. In 1991, Sharpton pretty much did just that in Brooklyn.

They are doing these apologies to cover thier asses in a court. The damage has already been done, whites are being attackedby blacks, and some of the beaters are openly saying this is for Trayvon in the process. The media at every level did not want the facts to report, they wanted salacious headlines.

I can see it now. MSNBC claims they have audio of Zimmerman saying "I really hate black folks...."
Then after someone shoots him they will offer an apology: "Upon further review of the audio, he actually was calling from a restaurant and said 'I really hate black olives in my salad.'"

Zimmerman might emerge from this fiasco as a very wealthy man after he files numerous libel law suits against all of these new agencies. I hope her files law suits against Al and Jessie and the New Black Panthers for libel and slander as well.

The "best" part about this whole scam is that anyone with an IQ above 10 could see this train wreck coming a mile away. As soon as they started reporting this "story" (as in fairy tale), two words came to my mind --

Dat Can't should emolated as she is in your sig pic. She has absolutely no redeeming value as a person as the only thing she does is rails against people who have been charged with a crime, but the cases have not been adjudicated. That and I really can't listen to her or Paula Deans voices with the manufactured(or may real) redneck southern accent.
