Just imagine a news headline:
"CptBengal a person of interest in terrorist plot". People go out with pitchforks looking for you. Your friends turn against you. You lose your job. Neighborhood watch captains post your picture on their range targets. MSNBC interviews a Hamas expert who claims that you are a bomb expert and a racist.
Your family abandoned their home and moves into a hotel. People protest at your business for weeks. You lose customers.
Meanwhile, back at Commie News Network, it turns out they were looking for CptCrunch and an apology was issued.
Is an apology enough?
Pretty much the same level as Spike Lee tweeting some random person's address to an angry mob.
This would be a funny situation if it wasn't so serious. GZ will never live a normal life now regardless of if he is charged or acquitted.
My point is that there is no accountability. A media outlet can incite a riot with no repercussions. In 1991, Sharpton pretty much did just that in Brooklyn.
