quote:

Still bristling over Mr. Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord, one French official said that an aim in drafting the joint statement was to ensure that the U.S. “is clearly identified as being alone.”

If anything, Mr. Trump’s two forays overseas have shown that some leaders are bending toward his positions, not the reverse.

quote:

The statement, for example, carried language about America helping other countries use “fossil fuels more cleanly and efficiently.” A European Union official conceded the reference to “these kind of energy sources is not something we like.”

quote:

“We got language in there that is consistent with the speech the president gave when he announced the decision to withdraw from the Paris accord,” one senior White House official said Saturday.

So it went with trade.

Mr. Trump has long complained that past trade deals favored other nations at the expense of the U.S., resulting in large trade deficits. The final statement bore a distinctly Trumpian ring, stressing the importance of “reciprocal and mutually advantageous trade.”

Sounds like a racist, bigoted mantra of the alt-right and KKK IMO.

Let the media bury itself. If Trump's policies are good for America (I believe that they are), the people will see the fruit of them regardless of what the MSM says.

American exceptionalism went into the shitter with Trump and his policies.

vacating both the TPP and the Paris Accord has left a vacuum that other nations, particularly China and other policy adversaries will be thrilled to fill and exploit, at the expense of jobs and technological advances here in the US.

You Trumpkins think this isolationism and nationalism is good....This is the year 2017, that old thinking will get you left behind and thanks to Trump and co. we got a nice little start on that.

It's amazing how he says something should happen and it just happens without him lifting a finger. Funny thing is they are doing it out of spite.

Are you saying that making America like everyone else made America exceptional?

Is that not the opposite of exceptionalism?

Cruiser, honest question… what do you think "American Exceptionalism" means?

Wrong. You have it backwards. Obama wanted America to feel ashamed for what we've done in the world (with our exceptionalism). Trump wants to celebrate it.

Eh? Those deals would result in lost jobs for the US and oodles of money being urinated down the drain. China was going to make money anyway because they weren't being held to the same unfair standards even though they are a huge contributor to pollution.

I'm not an isolationist and neither is Trump. I am in support of making our own country the first priority and putting the rest of the world second.

I know AE means several things, what Im talking about now is the worlds view of America. When the tsunami struck SE Asia several years back, the islanders called for America's help not their national government. We have apparently forsaken that type of leadership on the world stage when Germany more or less tells the world to move on without the US, when France tells our scientist 'move to France'....etc

we are less than in the worlds view because of this administration's utter shite show of leadership.
