By the way what's the LSU track record in this regard. When i was there in the seventies i was told since you are Jewish you can only join the Jewish frat. and then the Jewish frat nobody from north of Memphis. These may be private organizations but they are there at the discretion of the University. Let black athletes stop coming to bama and we will see how things change.
There are still Jewish frats (one or two, not sure nowadays,) but there are Jewish kids in non-Jewish greek organizations, too. We had a Jewish guy in my chapter years ago, which (I'm guessing) was not too terribly long after you were there. No blacks in any chapters then, which was wrong and I regret it. I wish I had spoken up and tried to change things. Live and learn.
Currently, LSU is not the most enlightened campus in the country, but just walking around on gameday, I see Asian and Indian kids in Greek organizations pretty often. And unless I'm really, really off in identifying ethnicities, I've seen one or two African Americans.
