Keep in mind the price Democrats paid for the ACA. Compare this with unpopularity of the AHCA. The public has come to expect their free care is more to the point. It's really easy to be against and highlight 24 million people kicked off insurance in a 30 second sound bite vs how this bill is better than the ACA.

Regardless, the GOP could actually win by not passing the bill is more of the point. Sit back and watch the ACA die. Here is the polling:

In comparison, pre-Obamacare polls:
Kaiser 46-42
Pew 38-48
Gallup 45-48
Bloomberg 38-50

vs

AHCA

Kaiser 30-55
CBS 32-59
Quinnipiac 17-62
NBC 16-48

I mean it's hard to overstate how unpopular the GOP health care bill is. Approval of AHCA/BCRA plans. Politically it's a dog and probably not worth pursuing as a policy matter.

Should just let Obamacare wither and dies. Then the Democrats would come running to get something working.

That's what I'm thinking. Policy wise it's a dog and politically it will give Democrats the House and maybe the Senate

THey would lose that battle 10/10 times. "Instead of fixing it, you let it run it's course and now xya happened! We 'knew' it was a damaged system that needed fixing"

That's a lose-lose for the GOP IMO

Passing something people really don't like shifts favor and seats to the other party. Failing to pass something doesn't shift power as much, but it would change the people in the seats. In red districts and states, people that voted GOP aren't going to vote Democrat because of a failed vote, they'll just vote for another Republican in the primary who will promise to have balls and he/she will be elected and the can is kicked further down the road.

It's lose-lose if you're currently in Congress, but there's a win-lose decision for the party as a whole. And because the "win" option is inactivity, that's partially when stuff never gets done.

.

It's less popular than Congress. And the fools here still want to pass it.
