The pilot can do it according to my friend. The pilot could be the hijacker.

The transponder's in the cockpit. ATC gives you a 4 digit code to transmit that ID's you from other aircraft. It's got an on/off button just like all the other avionics.

ETA: There is a mode where the transponder will also transmit your altitude. One of the first thing the 911 jihadis did was to turn off the transponder to make it harder for ATC to track them. Ground radar can still get a "skin paint" off your plane though.

Might have been The Langoliers

or a youtube video that caused terrorist to hate the plane and shoot it down?

That is nuts. Why take a whole plane with you?

Because death to infidels and virgins (I forget how many) in heaven, that's why.

It's pretty easy to follow ocean terrain.

This. Why steal a plane and kill all the passengers? Whats to gain if you don't let anyone know your stole it?

IF someone hijacked the plane, it was done on a suicide type mission. A ransom type situation just ain't happening.

Here is another point. If it was a terrorist suicide attack, then why hasn't any Jihadist group taken credit for it?

Just a guess, but it may have been a "lone wolf" terrorist with no ties to any particular group.

Read my link on EgyptAir 990. It wasn't a terrorist act. The first officer just wanted to commit suicide.

If it went straight in like United 93 somewhere in the middle of the jungle, it might take a while to find. There wouldn't be much of anything that looks like an airplane, and all the victims would pretty much be vaporized.

Here's another similar situation. Fedex 705

A guy was about to get fired, so he tried to kill the crew and then take out Fedex's Memphis facility with the airplane. It's like a random school shooting. There's some real fruit loops out there.

And was the first officer a Muslim?

I don't know if he was a black muslim or not. He was an ex-Navy pilot.

If he had taken out the Memphis facility, he would have destroyed Fedex.

ETA: The EgyptAir 990 FO kept saying "I rely on God" all the way to impact.

Really? That means I don't pull it out often enough. I just thought that was curious.

You call that a wild idea? A wild idea would be that there was no plane and this is all just an elaborate lead in to the next season of True Detective.

If you don't let anyone know you stole it and have a way to hide it on the ground, maybe steal it for a future suicide flight. Maybe the idea would be to fly it into a high rise somewhere ala 9-11.

Unlikely to work (at least post 9-11 I would think)but that could be a possible plan. However I couldn't possibly think that would work with all the satellite coverage these days looking for things, especially missing planes.

This is utterly hilarious.

This missing plane thing has turned this board into a bunch of conspiracy theorists. And over such a trivial matter compared to incidents with infinitely larger impact on our lives.

More time has been spent wondering, thinking, questioning, doubting this incident than what most of you spend on incidents with far more evidence against the official story.
