More 18- to-34-year-olds live with a parent than with a spouse, according to the report, The Changing Economics and Demographics of Young Adulthood: 1975–2016 (pdf). That's a major shift from the 1970s, when young people were more than twice as likely to live with a spouse. Young adults today are also likelier to be enrolled in college or graduate school than their counterparts in the '70s.

Most of those who live at home but neither work nor study have a high school diploma or less, and about a fifth have a child. Half are white, and the majority are male. About a quarter have a disability .

Have some pride cucks, damn.

But lest ye cast all us millennials as lazy bums

That's 2.2 million people, a small percentage of the nation's more than 70 million millennials but a striking figure nonetheless.

One interesting tidbit I thought was the 1970's/twice as likely to live with spouse stat. Splitting the cost of rent cannot be understated.

I am gainfully employed as a software engineer, thanks to my superior Auburn Engineering degree, but for my fallen millennial homies I must say that I blame the prior generations who have spent us into oblivion and wrecked the economy at the same time. Great job fricksticks.

I would love to see the breakdown on the disabilities.

Sounds to me like the disability system needs a major overhaul, and fast.

It's a shame the parents couldn't raise them as well as their parents did them. Instead, the millennials are stuck with suffering the consequences of the generations before them and will likely take the blame respectfully until the boomers die off. Only then can society begin to make a comeback.

That's about 550,000, or less than 1% of a 70 million cohort. Doesn't seem out of line.

Whole lot more to it than just that, but it is a solid start.

I meant more in terms of what their listed disability was.

The 'living with unmarried partner' is by far the biggest change.

Evidence of the ever shrinking influence of the church on our society.

Cloward and Piven strategy, use freebies to collapse the system so it can be transformed. They did the same with all other gubment freebies as well.

Too bad for the dims their candidate didn't win.

So being a lazy stoner is now considered a disability?

any advantages for a male millennial to get married nowadays? Unless you just want to have kids its a retarded thing to do. Costing me $7500 in legal fees just to (most likely) get split custody of my child. I would love more kids, but frick possibly going through this again, and frick being a part time parent.

Fix divorce so it isn't blatantly lop sided and in favor of women, and you might see things change. Until then all you'll see are minorities breeding out the wazoo while whitey withers away.

ADD and ADHD are now considered disabilities. Not even kidding. It's just another cradle to grave entitlement now.
