Martin asked Gingrich about his recent conversation with the president, which included speaking about Sessions.
“Well, I think the president’s deeply troubled,” Gingrich said. “And I think that he’s legitimately troubled.
“The Justice Department is a extraordinarily left-wing institution,” Gingrich said. “Ninety-seven percent of its donations went to Hillary Clinton.
And when Martin said it would be “suspect” if there were no investigation, the following exchange took place:
Gingrich: Of course it’s suspect to you. But isn’t it equally suspect to you that 97 percent of the donations by people employed at Justice went to Hillary Clinton and that, in terms of Mueller’s law firm, it was 99.82 percent went to Hillary Clinton? And in terms of the people he’s been hiring, these are paid killers. If you read Sidney Powell’s book about the Enron case, you will see these names coming up. And these are people who the Supreme Court…
Martin: But Jeff…
Gingrich: …By a 9-0 vote rebuked.
Martin: So Jeff Sessions, though, is not a liberal by any stretch of the imagination.
Gingrich: No, and…
Martin: He’s not a Democrat. And he’s the leader of that department.
Gingrich: But no, he’s – that’s the whole point that Trump is making, is that he stepped aside. And therefore, he’s not the leader of the department. A career Justice Department person is the leader of the department. And it’s a department whose culture’s very liberal — a department whose culture’s very anti-Trump. And the…

Why the frick are they allowed to even donate money?
That is a huge conflict of interest.
More proof that government workers should be barred from any political elections and, imo, should be completely and absolutely barred from voting.

Why in the hell can so many common Americans see the corruption that is being perpetrated against the citizenry by the swampers? Trump should have stepped right on their throats from day one but he tried to play nice and showed weakness and it gave the swampers hope. Where are people who were going to help Trump drain the swamp? Hmmmmm, I wonder?
IS THE SWAMP BIGGER THAN WE THOUGHT? I THINK IT IS!

Where can we verify these numbers?

LOL. Ole Newt is pulling stats out of his arse. He no more knows that 97% of DOJ staffers contributed to HRC than he is an opponent of divorce! What a blowhard.

I believe several talking heads have made the same claim based on disclosures from DOJ employees.

From The Hill -95% of donations from 14 agencies went to CLinton.
You do know that this is all public record?

This kind of shite is hard for the Progs/Dims to accept. They actually believe they have attained some SJW high ground because they have empathy and really care for all the freaks of society. I know crazy isn't it.

The stat is very misleading. The Hatch Act prohibits rank and file federal employees from engaging in political activity, including making donations.
However, high ranking political appointees (like the AG, Sec of State, etc.) are exempt. Those folks who are appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate.
Those political appointees are the ones who made the donations. Who appointed them? Obama. So naturally they mainly contributed to a Democrat.
I bet that if you look at contributions from a Republican administration, the numbers would be similar but the other way.
This is the kind of thing folks like Newt use to fool the people while at the same time actually telling the truth.
It's not as if the career assistant prosecutors and such are cutting checks to politicians. Bu that's what Newt wants you to think.

That, or Speaker of the House. Nothing like brain and experience; guy can slash his way through and never lose a smile or break a sweat.

It was the Democrat plan all along. They all know Sessions and understand he is honorable and does shite by the book. They knew if they kept bitching about his meeting with Kislyak that he'd "do the right thing" and recuse himself. And that's exactly what happened.
So here we are with a neutered AG who has no authority whatsoever relating to the most important investigation going on (Muh Russia). I have had dealings with Jeff Sessions and I have my own personal reasons for liking the man a lot. But on this one he is flat wrong and I can't blame Trump for being pissed.
Democrats NEVER recuse themselves, so why should Republicans? Loretta Lynch basically flipped us off when people suggested she recuse herself after meeting with Clinton on the tarmac. Remember that? Not a peep from the media on that one. Business as usual.

Where can we verify these numbers?
Wilmer Hale Contributions
So the DOJ donates 13% and Wilmer Hale donates 21% to Republicans.
The thing is, nobody wanted to donate to Trump. Jeb Bush got considerably more. So did Scott Walker and even John Kasich. Mitt Romney got exponentially more in 2012.
But I mean what do you expect? Specifically the DOJ, Trump spent his campaign ripping them, and it was probably effective. But we shouldn't be surprised that DOJ employees and lawyers in a Boston/DC based law firm don't support Trump.
I mean using Gingrich's logic, Scaramucci, who was a Bush then Walker supporter, who was highly critical of Trump, is just as much part of the opposition as anybody else.
I mean Hillary Clinton was front and center at Trump's own wedding. That's much more exteme than a small political donation.

That is one of the many many reasons Chaffetz left...nothing changed at the DOJ with the new administration. The head of the House oversight committee still couldn't get the documents he wanted, got the same results as under Obama...nothing. Don't know if those turds can be fired or not.
