First off,are we sure who used the chemical agents?Second, are the rebels sided with Al Qaeda? If the rebels are sided with them we should not help them.Maybe the rebels are responsible for the use of the sarin gas and are hoping we think the Syrian government did it in hopes that we follow through of the threats of an attack.

Is there any chance in this whole wide world of this happening?

We are the world experts on WMD. The regime was behind the attacks. :sarcasm:

I think the moral argument is the best card the administration has to play. A dictator gassing his own people and is basically daring us to stop him. Assad crossed the "red line" laid out by President Obama. There is a moral argument but does it constitute more violence is the question?

re: 9/3/2013 UPDATE: Vote Counting on Syria
quote:

King sharply criticized Obama for waiting for a congressional resolution, saying that he “is abdicating his responsibility as commander-in-chief and undermining the authority of future presidents. The president does not need Congress to authorize a strike on Syria. If Assad’s use of chemical weapons against civilians deserves a military response, and I believe it does, and if the president is seeking congressional approval, then he should call Congress back into a special session at the earliest date. The president doesn’t need 535 members of Congress to enforce his own red line."

Rep. King makes me want to vomit

Rep. Robert B. Aderholt (R-Ala.) was especially sharp, saying that Obama’s speech “leaves many questions, such as who exactly are the ‘good guys’ in this conflict? And how is American involvement not the fuel for the fire the Muslim Brotherhood and extremist are trying to ignite throughout the region? Cruise missiles are not a strategy. The president by now should see that foreign policy is far more complex than that.”

The only guy that is a lean no or against from Alabama, the rest are undecided. Like what he has to say on it, but to the rest..
They need to get with it. I'm already disappointed in many of their votes on the FISA votes. If any vote for this too, I won't ever vote for them again.

He is easily becoming one of my least favorite people in the Senate.

I feel your frustration, we have crossed the threshold where the informed voter no longer matters. It's almost a losing battle brother.
