If "separation of CHurch and state" meant what you think it meant could you explain references to the Bible in the Capitol rotunda? Could you explain how the very first person hired by the Continental Congress was a Congressional Minister? Could you explain why Congress prays before every session? Same with SCOTUS?

"Separation of church and state" was a misnomer in US law right from the start, the founding fathers NEVER meant for there to be any such thing. James Madison would roll over in his grave if he knew that someone had so misinterpreted the first Amendment.

It is "freedom OF religion" not "freedom FROM religion"

Atheists experience cognitive dissonance when they try to explain why they think anything can be considered moral right or wrong. The idea of natural law begs questions they don’t want to answer.

Most don't.

I do enjoy how people who lack a certain belief get lumped together though.

What's the fun of being an atheist if you can't rebel against God, amirite? They care because they know He's there.

No.
It's the Grinch principle. It's not enough that they don't believe in Santa but your children must not believe either.
For some reason religious beliefs shrink their hearts 3 sizes too small, and they want your company in their misery.

Of course they can't prove the nonexistence of a creator. You just have to have faith in their beliefs!

For people like the OP, this is just a way to stick his tongue out like a 3rd grade child.

Why do liberals melt over monuments so much?

I'm sure the board would be just as outraged if it was a 40ft high obelisk being removed from public land and totally not be hypocrites and celebrate it right?

It's abundantly clear that none of it is anything more than simply an attempt to "get" people they don't like.

Does the phrase "separation of church and state" appear anywhere in the constitution?

It really is as simple as some things are productive to living a peaceful happy life and some things are not. All of the getting into discussion of whether which specific thing is bad or which specific thing is good is a mistake.

Loos like the big government theocrats are showing their little dick syndrome again. Have to whine and stomp their feet if Daddy Government isn't allowed to give them toys but not everyone else.

Atheists think they're being persecuted when in fact Christians face far more persecution. They take down our holy monuments and won't let us celebrate our holidays
