Unlike the leftys on this board who never site specifics, here is the law:

quote:

Whoever embezzles, steals, purloins, or knowingly converts to his use or the use of another, or without authority, sells, conveys or disposes of any record, voucher, money, or thing of value of the United States or of any department or agency thereof, or any property made or being made under contract for the United States or any department or agency thereof; or

Whoever receives, conceals, or retains the same with intent to convert it to his use or gain, knowing it to have been embezzled, stolen, purloined or converted—

Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; but if the value of such property in the aggregate, combining amounts from all the counts for which the defendant is convicted in a single case, does not exceed the sum of $1,000, he shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

Y'all don't think Comey got council on all of this before he made his statements?

It's so great to see the melt about this leak. Last week I had stated that the melt of the week was Kathy Griffin and that the week before the melt of the week was Someone else ( I forgot who because they change so often here ). I then asked what the next week's melt would be. I think we now have our answer.

You can bet that call me consulted with an attorney before releasing that information. He knew exactly what he was doing. By the way, it does not matter what happens to Comey The leak is out.

The public cannot unsee what has been seen.

Interesting.
The very defense he used in order to enable Clinton to skate may be the very thing that takes him down.

I understand Trump wanting to go on the offensive since he has had to play defense his entire presidency and a lot of it has been complete bullshite. However, part of me thinks he should just call out Comey (which he already has) and move on. Let Comey twist in the wind as a disgruntled ex-employee and fade away. Comey has nothing on Trump and Trump has better things to do.

Under this statute both Comey and the Columbia professor could be prosecuted for conveying a record of the United States.

Do it. We need to start busting these fricking leakers like Reality Winner.

Maybe.

But I'm willing to be he made sure he wasn't going to incriminate himself.

Who's "melting?"
It appears your definition is flawed.
You're right about one thing: The public is seeing this play out; I'd bet most folks are tired of it.
This stuff does nothing but strengthen one man's 2020 cause.

The whole thing is petty and stupid.

Comey had no previous established practice of documenting his meetings. He did so with Trump because of "Feelings".

Then instead of doing the thing that he is supposed to be known for (integrity) he decides to sit on this huge revelation of Trumps wrongdoing and release it ONLY after he was fired.

As I said in another thread, I COULD make this case, and maybe we should just to make examples of these people who believe they can do anything as long as "getting Trump" is their agenda.

How?

Tell me how Comey's testimony changed anyone's views they had before his testimony?

Unless you lay in bed all day, it's impossible not to break a dozen laws a day. Too many freaking laws. All it takes is one bureaucrat to put you in his crosshairs and your life is ruined. Just saying.

oh definitely

Comey has no moral high ground to stand on

I just assume all this clamoring to get Comey is just in retaliation for all the Trump/Russia stuff.

You're right. It's all very petty.
