Not if they don't enlist. The military is a voluntary force.

Don't join if you don't want to fight

Have you served? If so, why do you believe so?

If not, don't reply please.

Just know your words are about as large a piece of evidence as there could be for the need for civilian control of the military.
Pretty sure we already got all the evidence we need right there in the U.S. Constitution...

Never served. Not physically capable to join. Don't care that you don't want my reply. I believe so because of the constitution.

They are accomplishing nothing and are living off the teet of government welfare for life off my dime. They contributed nothing.

That's a great expenditure of tax dollars and blood. You're a fricking lunatic and probably have 20 "Desert Storm Veteran" hats.

There's a difference between being capable of serving and not serving while complaining about how the military should be run and not being able to serve.

Sorry for my comments bro.

I don't believe civies should run our military directed, minus SECDEF.

We're trained a certain way for a specific reason, IMO. Unless you've gone through it, you can't understand.

For all vets in this thread. I won't comment any more on this subject and apologize for any comments that were disrespectful of your service. Can't offer anything else here. I won't erase anything, not my style. God Bless you.

id be the first person to sign away my veteran benefits if everyone had to do the same. I didn't sign up for them and neither do they. If it weren't for a bitchy ex wife riding my arse about it for 3 years i would've never applied for va disability in the first place. Once again, where are your other complaint posts about others " living off the govt teet"?

No need to apologize. We have freedom of speech for a reason. If any Vet gets offended by anything anyone said on the internet they really need to get perspective on their service.

We pledged an oath to the Constitution. Defending Freedom of Speech is high on the list of priorities there.

Dude - you sound a lot like you're ragging on folks who voluntarily put their lives on the line so you can have the right to bitch about a few of your tax dollars.

If that's true, it would be a craven exhibition that might as well double as an invitation to get an asset kicking.

Might want to be a bit more careful out in the real world, just sayin'...

My SO wants me to start getting my stuff documented. I love what I do too much to risk an MRB or QRB

Didn't like the way the thread turned on Gusoline. My nephew (he's army) feels a lot like Gus and wants to fight..but he's an MP. He was in Belgium and now in Augusta (thank the lord). I am not a vet hater.

ETA:: dont let your pride get in the way, when you see admin fricks later on who rolled their ankle out in town from being retarded drunk and get 60% for it while you get 30, shite will eat at you.

God bless your nephew.

I hope he stays safe. Just trust he's with good leadership and he's paid attention to all the training he got.

I pray he remains safe and if he can avoid the fight that he does. If not, I'm sure he'll be prepared the best he can be.

Again, sorry for jumping the gun there Dawgfanman.

In the context of the other guy arguing those same people have accomplished anything, it is absolutely cogent.

We have not faced a true existential threat in this country since WW2 (in a "hot" war requiring blood shed - not cold war). What is the fricking point of still being there? Why are we paying for it? Our military and military brass aren't somehow immune from criticism because they get shot at where they go. They shouldn't be getting shot at because they shouldn't be there. Our politicians suck and THAT is the focus.

Of course your average "I want to serve my country" guy doesn't deserve any focused consternation, but I'm not going to sit around and watch us waste blood and treasure because those guys happen to exist in the military.

Besides, all of that is not even relevant to the point of them not even needing to be sent. Dude sounds like he's cool with us sending 4000 troops to accomplish "something" and build teamwork or some dumb shite.

I know I should. Being a soldier is the only career I've ever wanted. The thought of having to go back to straight civie life...

No offense to our civie brethren, of course

Also, I lost my best friend and childhood friend in Afghanistan. Tell me what purpose his death served. Tell it to his mother. Be specific.
