I've been looking through my copy of "LSU Football Vault - A History of LSU Football" compiled by Herb Vincent.

It's a really great book - those "souvenirs" in the little packets - stat sheets, brochures, surveys, pictures etc. look eerily real - really makes you think you have the originals.

I noticed the team portrait of the 1970 team and it was totally lily white.

I believe Alabama recruited their first black in 1971 and I thought we beat them.

That made me wonder - who was LSU's first black football star?

I'm guessing Terry Robiske but was wondering if there was someone I missed.

Maybe Lora Hinton a running back from Virginia? Terry Robiskie was one of the first star black players.

Hinton was the 1st to sign. His 3 kids played at Woodlawn(BR) and are very good kids.

I remember Mike Williams. He played a few years of professional ball. I think he was from Covington. He was in the early '70's.

So, this is OK? Then I guess you are asking who was the first "coal black" football star?

Nope.

CA recruited around 1976 and TR in 1973.

Robiskie came in '73-76, Alexander in '75-78.
