Except one or two plays a game to keep the other team's D honest, he should not be running out of the backfield without a lead blocker or with PT or Deuce split with him. Reggie would be most lethal as a primary slot player. How many times getting stuffed on 3rd and 2s or one yard gains on first down will it take for SP to realize this?

seems like payton is the one who plays for the big play only with bush...otherwise we grind it out with deuce today and probably win

If Bush would not always try to turn a certain 3 yard gain into a 5 yard loss because he is always looking for the big play, I would say there is hope for him to be predominately used out of the backfield.

You would hope that's what coaching is for. I can't hate him for trying to make the big play. I know he wants to win every game, but he needs his role defined for him to be consistently productive.

its not about hating him or liking him....just view it from an efficiency pov....forgetting the personality of the situation, bush is a failure as a bt the tackle rb....forcing the issue is just taking backwards steps and stunting us....

i saw one play where he squirts threw and gets 4 yds and it was a huge whole if he just made one cut and avoided an ankle tackle...you could've sworn he would get at least 7 but bush is the only player i've ever seen you manages to get less than what yo uexpect from the blocking...he actually minimizes the potential on the run....
