I am in the process of purchasing a laptop for casual gaming and was hoping someone could help me with a few questions.

1. Is there a substantial difference between a HD 1940x1200 screen and a 1440x900?

2. Is the $200 difference important or should I spend that $200 on a processor upgrade. Wife won't let me have both :)

Thanks in advance.

I bought a laptop a few months ago with 1440X900 looks great, spend the money on CPU and vid card.

Some of the Toshiba laptops come with dual vidcards at a decent price, look on newegg.

I dont think the human eye can differentiate that well, at least not my human eye, of course I had to have lasik surgery!

ie if your anal about running at max resolution with infintesimal amounts of detail buy the higher res, else beef up the processor.

$200 difference in the cpu likely means that your upgrading to a quad core.

Very few games are designed to run on a quad core.

However, itt really depends on how long you want to stay with you laptop.

If you want to add a couple of years to it then I would suggest the better CPU.

As it was stated the difference between the graphic cards isn't really noticeable unless your going to output to another video device.

Check out the Gateway p7811fx it was on sale for $1250 last week. Not sure if it is now. Best buy is the only store to carry them for now.
