My main concern with idiots (aka rantards) is that they use this board to identify by name players who have let them down. Idiots, do you think that the players or their friends or their families never access this board from time to time? How would you like to see your name headlining one of these messages with the caption, "My Main Concern with (your name)" on it?

Yes, I know that being a fan can be frustrating. You can react to a bad play and wish that the participants in it had done a better job. I do that. Even sulk on it for while. But, what BENEFIT do any of us receive by broadcasting the personal attacks, here?

Do you suppose that a player intends to drop a pass, slip on the surface, fumble a ball, miss a block, draw a penalty, throw an interception, miss a tackle, leave a receiver uncovered, etc. ON PURPOSE? Do they do that just to make you mad? You act justified to come on here and publicly shame them about it.

Now, we have players who did nothing wrong yesterday. However, they are being run through the mill because of perceived inadequacies in their throwing motions or field generalship.

I doubt that this message will draw anything but wrath. Idiots are too stupid to realize that they are idiots.

if they take anything on here seriously, and let it hurt their feelings, thats their problem. they need to grow up a little bit if something posted on a message board hurts them

but thats just my opinion

I agree. Nothing wrong with saying that so-and-so had a terrible game, but when you start dissecting his abilities and saying that he's just not good enough for LSU to win with, and all this other crap, you're being an idiotic p.o.s.

In general, the people who do this follow recruiting analysts waaaay too much, and have absolutely zero idea what it actually takes to win football games.

I agree 100%, but I don't think a forum rule keeping people from using players name will work.

Also, they choose to go to LSU and have that spotlight on them. They could have went anywhere... but that doens't make it right for fans to bash individual players.

The thing about yesterday's game is that LSU played very well in yesterday's win, yet people can still find things to bitch about. "The secondary looked confused" "Both quarterbacks did not look like Tim Tebow" "Special teams looked bad" etc...

LSU won 41-13, do they need to improve, absoulutely. Now is not the time (and its never time to bash them) to bash anyone of these players.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people operating in large groups...........or small groups..........................or acting alone.

Well, I'd just like to point out that there is a huge difference between saying that "player A needs to improve on X, Y, and Z, because it looks like he's doing something wrong," and saying "player A is not good enough to play for LSU, and we'll lose if he plays in the future."

If they don't want to be scrutinized by fans then they need to go play intramurals. This is DI college football, if a fans post on a message board upsets them or their family they need to join the real world and understand that kind of thing happens.

I hope everybody realizes that this is JUST an internet forum where anybody who can type and has an internet connection can get access to (No, right mind is not a requirement). IMO, ANYBODY taking what is posted here seriously and let it affect them are idiots. Fans, players, relative/friends/parents of players or the coaches themselves.

a. guys who frick up or aren't great likely know it. it doesn't mean they don't try hard, but they they just might not be good

b. when you play for LSU you get benefits because of it, and mostly that is due to their place in the LSU universe. without this fame, they wouldn't get the benefits. because of this fame, they're under a microscope. can't have it both ways

there is a line you can cross while being too harsh, but pointing out a guy underperforming or who fricked up isn't bad

Great Post! I love how many of these posters say that they are "LSU fans." If they were huge "LSU fans," they wouldn't down everything about LSU football. Now, I agree that we all may not like this or that about the football team, but a true fan supports the team no matter what. Also, I always say that "Anyone can be a fan of a team when the team is winning, but it's the team is losing that distinguishes a real fan.
