Like or hate the first one?

I thought it was decent but from what I've read about it, it was edited to death.

I think an updated version will be great.

first one horrible. Was way too cartoonish.

the idea of those weirding modules was ridiculous. There was a longer version that was a little bit better but not by much.

If you watch the first one high, it is a thing of beauty.

The extended edition makes a little more sense.

I hadn't read the books when the first one came out so I didn't mind it.

The Tv miniseries was closer to the book, but the acting was terrible. Still didn't mind it.

Wish they would have kept going and made God Emperor of Dune.

Is a 3rd Dune really that necessary?

The extended edition works well enough, and the TV series, although with terrible acting, followed the book well enough.

There are tons of great sci-fi/fantasy stuff ripe for translation into film. Pern books, Terry Brooks Shannarah series, Perdido Street Station, I have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Canticle for Leibowitz, etc.
