Did anyone catch Bobby Hebert interviewing Brando on WWL last night?

Brando was saying that he did not have LSU in his top 10 because their schedule is too tough. It's idiots like Brando that screw up the polls. Instead of ranking the teams based on who is better, he looks at the schedule and tries to guess where teams will be ranked at the end.

When pollsters do this a team is double-punished for having a tough schedule. First you have to play better teams, then if you beat them you have to hope teams that were ranked ahead of you lose to weaker teams.

Just rank the teams based on who is better. If a team with a tough schedule loses a game, then the loss will drop them in the polls. But if LSU beats Florida and Georgia, they shouldn't have to hope that Ohio State loses to Illinois or USC loses to Arizona to move ahead of them.

that guys an idiot. georgia has the toughest schedule out of anyone in the top 10. and did that stop him from voting them #1? it's stupid to rank someone lower because they have a tough schedule.

I agree 100%. It is flawed logic and it runs rampant by broadcasters and sportswriters.

I don't think Brando or WWL or anyone else on your list hates LSU. I am merely saying that Brando's logic (which is used by a lot other idiots too) is flawed and can affect who ends up in the BCS games.

In fact, I believe Brando likes LSU, but I think he goes too far trying to make people believe he is objective about the Tigers (and, oh by the way, did I say that I think he is an idiot?).

yeah, it's a conspiracy. Regardless of the fact Brando's from Shreveport and has/had a daughter @ LSU. There should be an investigation.

On that note, can anyone tell me a system that isn't flawed? I'll hang up and listen. Thanks.

Its called sarcasm, look it up

There are no "rules" on how they should view things on how to vote. Nor should there be. Let the season work itself out like it has for 100 years.

My guess is that ya'll would prefer the gubberment to lay down rules on how to vote in a fricking pre-season poll

Hey Pricks! Read my post. Nobody said anything about anybody hating LSU. Do you agree that Brando's logic (and the logic of others who are quick to complain about teams scheduling weak opponents) punishes temas with a strong schedule? If not, explain. If so, stop reading things into a post that aren't there just to invent a reason to be a prick.

I've got no problem with using Brando's logic to pick a preseason poll. My problem is half the voters use that, and the other half pick based on talent. Gives you a skewed result. Wish they could get together and define what the AP Poll should be.

I don't see how you can't have a poll and not base it on how the season will probably play out. Preseason polls are meaningless. Final polls count. If we are going to have these friggin silly preseason polls, you have to project what you think a team will do during the season.

16 teams is too many, but that's the only flaw.

I'd copy the NCAA's approach to the FCS division except make it an 8- or 6-team playoff.

6-team would mean the top 2 seeded teams get a first round bye. That's a big enough advantage to still make the regular season a priority to finish in the top 2.
