Was he catching anyone's eye in camp before his injury?

Hokie was just saying he is a physical specimen and he just needed to get some reps but could turn out to be a steal

I believe that a team can keep an unlimited number of players on the IR. If he is still salvageable, I would like the Saints to keep him on IR so he won't take up a roster spot or even a practice squad spot.

Yeah they just said when his ir time runs up they should be able to assign him to the practice squad

They also just said he has a fractured right foot this is the reason for ir

I can picture Brian Young and Hollis Thomas toasting each other.

They also said hollis thomas is in the best shape of his career coming into camp. He looked very good in drills this weekend. They said he was a pure beast in camp so far

That is very good news but Hollis is not the future.

DeMario Pressley's season is over, according to the Saints' website.

I feel bad for the kid. Hopefully his foot gets better.

Players can't be assigned to the practice squad. Two things need to happen before a player can be placed on the practice squad:

1. The player must first be placed on waivers and must clear waivers. That means that every team in the NFL gets a shot to sign him if they want to.

2. The player, after clearing waivers, has to agree to resign with the Saints. That usually happens, but not always. An example is rookie WR Mike Hass from a couple of years ago. He cleared waivers and the Saints wanted to place him on their practice squad but he agreed to be place on another team's practice squad instead (the Bears, I think).

I thought D.P. was going to be a steal. He was one of the top if not no.1 high school recruit 4 years ago.Hope it is nothing serious.

That's too bad. I really thought he would take over as the third DT in the rotation by the end of the year. Hopefully he works hard and the Saints work to make him productive for the next few years.

That's sad that they had to draft two DT to get his arse in gear.

Man, I bet he's happy to have signed his contract nice and early. Signing bonus may be all he's got to live on for a while...

It may be Carl Nicks. He was supposed to go in the first day before he got in trouble and was labeled a "character concern".
