I read an article on Auburnundercover.com and it had all of the sec teams OOC schedule and LSU does not even play anybody good. Everybody else has two tougher games and two cupcakes and LSU has 4 cupcakes. what gives?

LSU definately has the weakest out of conference schedule. West Virgina, Clemson, Arizona St, Texas, Miami, Georgia Tech, Florida St, UCLA are just a few of the names that come to mind that are found on various SEC schedules this season (some teams play two of these other schools). LSU has Appy St, Troy, North Texas, and Tulane. Go ahead, cue the "everybody is afraid to play LSU (but not UGA, FLA, or AU) remarks."

Yeah, it does suck, but they tried to get someone to play us, nobody wanted to travel down here and get their arse kicked. Even though, it is forced, I respect you guys for traveling to Baton Rouge to get an arse whooping every couple of years.

Yep word is that the AD from Texas Tech and Verge had everything worked out for the season opener but Mike Leach did not want to come to BR to open the season.

Not just your opinion, it's a fact.

You'll get responses that LSU tried to schedule good teams, but nobody would bite. Simply not true, but most people believe this story coming from the athletic department.

With our young QB's, a few cupcakes may help their maturation.

As a LSU fan I have to say I was very disappointed as well. Evreyone else has at least one or two very good OOC opponets. We have nothing but fluff.

I have season tix and I will give away my tix to App St, Troy, North texas and Tulane.

The SEC schedule is pretty darn tough enough. I think given the quality of the SEC, LSU made a smart choice in their OOC schedule.

...Until they role into Jordan-Hare after beating up on Appy St, Troy, and North Texas in no-pressure situations and step onto the field in front of 83,000 hostile fans against a top notch defensive unit for their first real college football test.

And this is the dumbest response I hear every time. Everybody else in the SEC plays a "pretty darn tough" SEC schedule, and everybody else in the SEC plays somebody out of conference. It is just how things work these days.

Sorry but they could be playing a high school team and I would not miss the season opener.

Well, they have a program now. They hired Joey Jones who started the football program at Birmingham-Southern and was their coach (I think they just finished their first season on the field? Maybe second?). So they have a football program now and are out "recruiting" and building facilities. The plan though is to not have a team on the field until 2009.

Dude bigpapamac are you passing the posts that explain to you why we have a weak OOC schedule this year? Everyone we tried to get to play us in BR turned us down. ESPN even tried to help LSU find a big OOC game and the only team that didnt turn us down on the search was Appy St. So why the hell not play 'em, atleast they and Troy have more balls then aTm or tx tech. Its not like we dont try to play touch OOC teams and ex. of that would be VT last year or the fact the we scheduled Washington and were trying to get something worked out with OU.
