We have only had 1 LB drafted since 1990 (including).

Found that interesting.

And obviously there's only next year's draft left to add to this. I suspect it will include...

WR - Demetrius Byrd
OL - Herman Johnson
DL - Tyson Jackson, Kirston Pittman, Marlon Favorite
LB - Darry Beckwith

Not counting any juniors.

We've sucked at recruiting good LB and O-line prospects. That is changing with Les, however.

So does this make us DL-University? USC is RBU, Penn State is LBU, so now LSU as DLU?

Sorry, I was being an a-hole as usual. My faux pas would be unforgiveable in September, but it's still July, so ehhhh, no biggie.

I still don't understand people who have insisted this whole decade that our linebacking has been our strength.

Anyhoo, I think it's interesting that Ryan Miller was more highly regarded out of high school as a C/OG than Brett Helms was. I'd actually like to see Miller get some decent playing time this year. That goes for Ernest McCoy too. We've got to keep Hitt and Barksdale sharp with competition.

Yes, it does. Where have you been lately?

ETA: We have enough DL studs this year to go "Chinese Bandits" on that arse for any team we play, similar to what DiNardo pulled against UF in '97. Just our 5 seniors (Pittman, Alexander, Favorite, Jackson, and Johnson) could kill people.

He was a projected 4th rounder ( LINK) when he decided to enter the spring 2002 NFL draft, but he went undrafted. ( LINK)

Also, the # of high draft picks (1st and 2nd) is even more impressive.

** I'm including b/c he would have been a 1st rd if not for character concerns

Also, K Williams has really excelled in the NFL even though he was a second day pick.

I've always wondered why we've had such trouble attracting linebacker prospects. It always seemed under previous coaches we were converting people to linebacker and rarely got pedigreed "star" linebackers out of high school.

I would think, with all the great DL stars that we have... that linebackers would be eager to jump at the chance to play here. With the DL occupying all the offensive linemen, our linebackers should be making every tackle!
