But how unoriginal was it when we first adopted the Tiger as mascot(circa 1896)? Its not like the decision was made last year.

It would have been better if he would have titled the article, "The most common. . ."

Jones is the 4th most used name in the US...Throwing Tyler on the front of it doesn't help!

Does it seem odd to anyone that this guy is from Arkansas and 5 of his "so called" unoriginal nicknames come from other SEC schools?
What a bag o douche
The University of Arkansas student body voted to change the name of the school mascot (originally the Cardinals) in 1910 to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Since the Razorback name was already in use by the Texarkana Arkansas High School Razorbacks, the University agreed to 'use' the Razorback logo as their mascot.
Guess he needs to add his school to #12 in his list.

Actually, it would have been much more interesting to list the top most original mascots. This article is completely pointless and the little kid that wrote it was apparently bored and is also misinformed about the reasons for the civil war. I guess they don't teach history over there in the Arkasas school of journalism. Bless his heart.

Originality <> Good nickname
Example
The Whining Vagina's: Completely original, and yet lacks a certain practicality for a team nickname.
