Also, I know someone who is highly allergic to MSG, like if he eats it, his throat swells up, he starts sweating real heavy. He's gotten it so bad that a few times when he inadvertently ate something with MSG, he had to to the ER.

Which is the reason why I was wondering if fast food places have to disclose the use of it. I know someone who reacts badly when eating something with MSG, I'd hate to think that he could get a box and then end up in the emergency room.

My point was the absurdity of boycotting Cane's over MSG if you are gonna do it while scarfing Taco Bell or Popeyes.

Excellent point. I don't eat any of it these days. I hope Subway isn't using MSG, though.

From Subway.com:

SUBWAY® restaurants does not add MSG to any of the standard menu items. However other ingredients such as hydrolyzed or textured vegetable proteins and/or autolyzed yeast are used in our products. These ingredients contain glutamates that may cause similar sensitivities that MSG causes.

afreaux-I just drank my cup of STFU-you are right bro. confused you with someone else on a food board thread. My bad.

If Raising Canes uses MSG-that should be a freaking scandal. I just can't believe it.

Comparing Canes to Popeyes is like comparing apples to oranges imo. Any way you look at it though, neither of them are going out of business.

I apologize for posting the graphic, a little juvenile on my part. But yeah, I do knock a few Latin places in town, but only because I frequent all those places.

I should have probably called and checked with Cane's in the first place, but at least now we know that they use it.

Can't do that, i've signed a confidentiality agreement. However, don't be a dumbass. Just look at it and you'll figure out the ingredients!

We use fresh center cut tenderloin, not some cheap mass produced Sysco BS.

I have a craving for Cane's about 4 or 5 times a year. I don't see how people eat it as much as they do without getting tired of it.

Popeye's is a different taste, and comparing the 2 is like the poster said "apples & oranges"...I'm always leery of the cleanliness of a Popeye's place & staff. Cane's cleanliness looks to be a lot better than Popeye's.
