I have been to III Forks in Dallas and it was pretty good.

I have no steak eating experience in Houston.

Houston

Vic & Anthony's-best total package in my opinion, similar to Ruth's/Morton's setup

Bob's Steak and Chop House- first rate meat, old school setup.

Pappa Bros- great steaks, so/so atmosphere

Fogo de Chao- brazilian steakhouse, awesome

Those would be my top four choices (Fogo different experience but good). Tough to go wrong with the big chains either though (Ruth's, Morton's, etc.).

I went to the "Striphouse" in downtown Houston and it was amazing, we go back there at least once or twice a year when we are in town.

Del Friscos and Bob are both great! I like Pappas as well.

Houston has too many steak houses to name but..Gotta agree with this bad boy.. Bring your appetite. Huge Salad bar with items fresh and crisp, including salmon. Dining room is "luxury ranch style" with white leather. It's impressive. Located on Westheimer out past the Galleria.
Pappa's Bros. Steakhouse is also good.

Been to Vic and Anthonys, Bob's, Flemings, etc, etc, but Americas in Houston is probably my favorite.

Americas is excellent. III Forks is overrated.

Vic and Anthony's is where all the big dogs dine. Last time I was there I saw Marcus Allen and Clyde Drexler there wine and dine some 20 year old white chics. I had the bone in ribeye and it was the best I have ever had. Plus an amazing wine selection...be sure to bring your big wallet though.

Del Frisco's in Dallas is unbelievable.

111 forks vastly overrated, decor looks like a whore house...there are probably 10 better choices in Dallas.

Americas in Houston rocks.. but for the value, call me tourist trap lover but Taste of Texas gets it done for me
