If you want the best steak in DFW then go to the Stockyards in Ft. Worth and find Cattleman's Steakhouse, it has been there forever and it beats anything in Dallas!!! the 2nd best place is in Irving and it is called The Keg, it is a little bit more pricey than Cattleman's but it still beats anything in Dallas!!!

The Keg was trash the two times I went. It doesn't get any better than Bob's or Del Frisco's. I have heard good things about Capital Grille and The Silver Fox as well.

Check out Charlie Palmer's new spot downtown on Main. Yummy. The Keg is crap. It would have to be Bob's or Charlie Palmer's for me in Dallas.

Charlie Palmer's for me in Dallas.

I whole-heartedly agree that Charlie Palmer's is a fantastic restaurant, but I'm not sure I'd classify it as a "steakhouse".

Vic's is the only one I've been to in Houston. We stay at the Magnolia when we go (about 5-6 times per baseball season) so it's about 4 blocks from our hotel. My wife gets filet, and I get porterhouse. Put in some sides, desserts and calamari for an appetizer, and you're looking at about $90-100 without tip. If you have wine, the price jumps pretty fast. That being said, service is incredible, atmosphere is upscale but not stuffy, decor is great, and the food has consistently been first rate. If you go, enjoy!

Thanks to all for the recommendations...I will be sure to try several as I frequent both cities often and I like a good steak!
