all things being equal - the patron is dressed appropriately and well behaved - the manager simply does not like this person for no applicable - what happens if he tries to throw the person out and the patron refuses?

The patron gets arrested for trespassing. Whether that constitutes a civil rights violation, however, would be vetted in a later lawsuit if the patron is a member of protected group.

I just don't see how whether or not my business agrees to serve someone is in any way a civil rights issue.

Even in a bar, the bar owner and the customer enter into a contract each time a drink is ordered. Two parties agree on the terms (drink for money), consideration is exchanged (money/drink), and that is that. If the bar owner does not agree to the terms (in other words, the bar owner refuses to be party to the contract), I don't know why that's a civil rights issue. I don't know why the government should be legislating who I serve.

If I want to be racist, that's my right in my home, right? Legislating "being nice" is retarded.
