He wasn't as good as you think!! Campbell, Dorsett, Griffin, Simpson, Sims, Walker, Jackson, Sanders were all better!!!!
That's still pretty good company PJ, Ricky was great, definately one of the top 10 RB's ever.

Top ten ever YES!! But not better than ANY of those!! The list only has 25 players on it!! He just doesn't belong on it!!!

Perhaps, I'd have to see the whole list again.
I'd put him over Woodson and VY though and those 2 were 10-11.

SORRY BUT, Vince Young>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.Ricky Williams!!! He was awesome his last two years and they won the Title BECAUSE of him!!!!

if Vince is going to be on the list then Reggie HAS to be

Not really!!! Young basically won games by himself!! Bush had WAY more talent around him than Young did!!

as a human being yes, as a football player, no.

He was the MVP of that team for sure, but he played for Texas, not Rice. The teams VY played on were had way more talent than the the teams Ricky played on, just look at the draft.
While Texas had more talent in 2005 than 1997, the Big 12 got worse. Ricky had less talent in a tougher league. VY more talent in what was a garbage league his last 2 years.

I agree with this!! But he was a good back!! But not top 25 material!!! As I said there are only 25 spots and the guys I mentiond were better!!!

bullshite PJ, I thought you knew something about football. VY didn't stop Lendale White on 4th and 2, Huff did.
Go watch the UT-OSU game. VY had 3 turnovers, the D held OSU FG 5 times, in that game, including twice when VY turned the ball over in FG range. I think 3 of the FG's were less than 30 yards, meaning the UT D stopped them inside the 10. If OSU gets a TD on just one of those drives, Texas would have been down by 10, instead of 6, when Vince lead the 4t5h Q comeback.
Texas had a great D that year. VY did not win by himself.

One of my favorite games ever.
If only we hadn't fumbled that ball in the endzone.....
or missed that last fieldgoal....
Was still a great game tho.

1st of all YOY know that is a bullshite statement!!!

What I am meaning is that VY was the catalyst for what made that team go!! USC would have been ALOT better than Texas if you take Bush and Young out of the game!!! The Texas D was good but how would they have scored????

There's no question about that.

Fair enough.

but there were legit questions about him going into that year, because before the 2005 season, he was ok, at best.
you forgot the part about him rushing for 1000yds and something like 15 td's
and you're thinking of his rs frosh year...there were legit questions that were pretty quickly answered as he matured as a rs soph
so young had 2 great years and is one of the winningest qb's in college fb history (based on %)

OK,he had 2 great seasons as a runner, 1 as a passer.

There were still legit question about his ability as a passer going into his RSJr year. The summer before that year, some were saying he might convert to WR in the NFL.

I should tell you there is not a stat I HATE more than QB winning %, so I don't care, its a team game. Plus his last 2 years the Big 12 was really garbage, outside of UT and OU.

LOL...I had a feeling you'd say that.
How's this stat: 30-2?
Garbage or not, the guy won a lot of freaking football games in a BCS conference. And then put on jaw-dropping performances against two pretty good teams in consecutive Rose Bowls.
Say what you will about his freaky throwing motion or the fact that he was a runner first...I can honestly say that watching the guy left me completely speechless on more then a few occasions. He was simply spectacular.

over rated BS. We only count games he started. So he gets credit for a "win" his freshman year against Texas Tech. He started, but got yanked and Chance Mock lead them on an 80 yd TD drive late to win, while VY was on the bench.
That same year Mock started the OU debacle, but Vince played long enough to committ 5 or 6 turnovers, I think 2 were returned for TD's, at least 1 was. But he didn't technically start, so that loss is not on his resume.
Same thing this year in the pros, he was terrible, but he wins, never mind that Kerry Collins started and won the game at Houston this year, or that he came in the Indy game when VY got hurt when they were behind, but won the game. Once again VY get the "win".

Yes he was, I'm just not sure he's one of the 10 best CFB players ever.

So, BTW did Michael Vick, who also left people speechless at times. And before someone one mentions he didn't win the BCSC, take a look at the tlaent he had around him compared to what Vince had at UT.

yea well vince wasnt even considered by the heisman voters as being the best QB in college that year.....reggie was at least consider the best player one of his years

He finished 2nd to Bush, so the Heisman voters seemed to think he was the 2nd best player that year.
