Okay...that's why I asked:
"Who says it's a BETTER job"
I don't watch much TV (audible gasp!!) because I'm not in the house..so I have to try and get information online, and I was honestly wanting to know who you were mentioning as saying the Mich. job was better.... I know I don't, FWIW

you guys are delusional if you think LSU compares with Michigan as a coaching opportunity.
Five coaches have named Michigan as a top (or THE top) coaching position in America: Holtz, Miles, Meyer, Fulmer, and Gruden.
Can you name EVEN ONE who named LSU (and was not then seeking that job)?
Michigan has NEVER lost a coach to another school.
Michigan has NEVER lost a coach to the NFL
some of the evidence cited above to support the assertion that LSU is comparable to Michigan, is just plain wrong:
Number of former players in the NFL All-time roster lists are here: LINK . LSU has 244 players who played one or more seasons in the NFL. Michigan has 305. Michigan has 6 NFL hall of famers, LSU has 3. Latest (2006) rosters show 36 players who attended LSU, and 42 who attended Michigan. (source: LINK ).

Michigan also has fat, ugly women, lousy food, and horrible weather. Keep jerking off to Gerald Ford's ashes.

You have no facts or stats to back up that argument. Simply homerism.

These codgers are too reluctant to break free from traditional success vs. modern day success, avaialble recruiting talent, and the fact that Michigan is one of THE most overrated football programs the last 5 years, 2nd to maybe only Notre Dame.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? It took a train wreck to get Lloyd Carr fired. If anything, all that says is we accept mediocrity. I guess if Miles is interested in 4 loss seasons and a year in year bitch slap from Tressel, go right ahead.

Now you are really reaching for an argument. That is just sad commentary.

My list only comprises teams that finished in the top 10 of all schools for each position. The fact that joe dildo was drafted in round 6 and ended up sweeping curbs for the county government doesn't matter. LSU has recruited far better talent, more speed, and bigger guys up front than Michigan the last 6 years. If you don't buy that argument, let's compare the SEC to the big 10 so you can really take a seat.

If we walk into a random city in some town not in the sec area or the big 10 area and just look around, what are the odds that someone is wearing a michigan sweatshirt.. fairly good. If we walk in to a sports bar in a random city far away and start asking if people know michigan's fight song I bet a large majority of sports fans know it.. If you ask people what michigan's helmet looks like I bet a large majority of sports fans know.. it doesnt have anything to do with who was better in the last 5 years.. it has to do with name recognition and tradition. Michigan is a name and I am sorry I respect your school and I have nothing against anyone personally because I understand your irritated to be losing your coach most likely, but LSU is not Michigan..

I've never traveled anywhere in the US or internationally and heard the Michigan OR LSU fightsongs break out spontaneously... and there are LSU grads and fans in all corners of the earth, too, so you are just your own unprovable opinion.... all you did was make Michigan fans sound woefully like Bammers! (WE OWN college tradition....... )

U are right Michigan dont care about LSU winning the SEC... timing dont mean anything to Michigan as long as they get Miles...
Posted on 11/29/07 at 7:50 pm to Randy
I hate to break it to you, but kids don't care about tradition and fightsongs anymore...they care about getting on national TV and playing for championships in the best conference.

I guess you guys are angry that your school is being used (again) as a stepping stone to something better.
The Big Ten in general (and the University of Iowa in particular) have also been used as stepping stones-several of our University presidents have gone on to be presidents in the Ivy League. Iowa's AD recently took the job as AD at Stanford. Iowa's former president (Mary Sue Coleman) is now president at Michigan.
It is part of life-each of us has a position in the food chain. All you can do is work hard and move up that food chain.

LSU- 10-2
UM- 8-4
Oh yeah and this one...
If Miles wasn't Michigan bred, Michigan would be a step down job.

I would like to thank that Georgia guy for the nice things he said about LSU. The fact is that over the last five years Georgia and LSU are the winningest programs in the SEC.
Re: Michigan and Miles. Michigan is clearly a superior academic school. Everyone knows that. But one of the contemporary trends of college ball is that these legacy/good school(Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan) programs are in decline because they simply cannot recruit the speed necessary to compete with the southern teams.
Also, you will regret hiring Miles. He is not very bright (even though he has an economics degree from Michigan) and will have trouble at a school which is not attractive to today's college athlete (warm and easy).

ok fukstain, the ONLY REASON Miles is even talking to UM is because he is Alum. Fukstain- he wouldn't even go there or consider it otherwise. That is the dumbest fukn post ever considering his connections- a stepping stone- sweet mary mother geez
