Can you read? I didn't mention any players, nor did I even mention the spring game. I expressed general concerns over Steele and his tendency to overcomplicate his defensive schemes and checks.

I was speaking in general after reading the tread. I don't know you dude chill

No. 1st unit was dominant. Secondary unit for purple squad was essentially 3rd stringers. Backup DB unit looks more like Toliver, Thomas, Jefferson, Thompson.

Definitely worried about the backups.

Why? As a unit they looked like what they are, backups.

Any of those second unit guys that has to fill in for a single player here or there on the first team D will be fine.

I wouldn't say dominant. The fricking offense just sucks.

Really?

That defense was lights out. The offense moved the ball but couldn't score until the end.

The spring game doesn't matter. They are just base schemes no blitzing or stunts. Hold your judgment until a meaningful game. Look at it as what our offense will do to mcneese, because there D will be as good as our 3rd string

There were definitely some blitzes and stunts in the game.

Maybe a little, but those games usually limit how much pressure you can put from the front 7. I don't think it was a good representation of what Coach O will do in games.

I wouldn't expect much from Thompson. Those injuries really set him back.

Wouldn't surprise me if cutrer is the 4th safety

Backups or not, there were blown assignments. That doesn't really have anything to do with talent.

Learning your assignments is a talent.

We have a ton of physical talent all over the 85 scholarship players, if history tells you anything, it's that the difference between who plays and whose on that purple team could easily be who knows their assignments

I'd be more worried if our starting QBs on the purple team had found busted coverages vs the white team, but they didn't. Not often atleast

Had the offense score in single digits your thread would read: Any worry about the spring game Offense?

Bitch gonna bitch.

First string gave up ZERO points until the end when they were playing situational stuff.

The purple team had walk ons playing the majority of the time. We will be fine.

This. Also, didn't we have 5 sacks this game? I know it might be a little easier to get them in the SG, but it feels like we didn't even have 5 sacks all last SEASON.

Check your attitude. You are apparently in the wrong thread.

This one is expressly about the spring game. Dooooosh

Having seen numerous spring games, I wouldn't be super fired up or worried about anything I saw in the spring game. I would just say yep that was a spring game.

It's not like every 2nd and 3rd unit player will out without most of the 1st team players.

The spring game and the results thereof were by design.
