Do these kids sign something that is akin to a plea bargain before even being charged? I just wondered if the agreements ever come out in open court as they sound open-ended. Need counselor SFP's thoughts on this article and what his plan of attack would be for this kid.

I've never seen anything in writing in louisiana. It's always verbal andante times the CI never even makes it to court. If he does, the cop tells the DA and they handle the case separately.

I would let them charge me first (which they would not with no evidence). No arrest, I would walk away. The LEO cannot just stop you for no reason. Was the kid charged with anything? Not that I could tell. Of course I'm not a stoned and scared college freshman. I would hope my son would have more sense.

well you have to beat it into your kids head about these kind of things. Most don't know and most parents have their heads in the sand or don't know better themselves.

my kids will grow up being respectful of Law enforcement but non trusting of law enforcement and government in general. And i will beat it into their head to never say a work or agree to anything if detained and always ask for your lawyer.
