I cut up all of my credit cards years ago but am looking to get one again. I am mainly looking to carry one for traveling, hotels, flights, emergencies, etc. I typically just use my debit card for these things, but it has been hacked before, and I am trying to avoid getting in a pickle while out of town if this would happen. I do not plan on carrying a balance, and would pay the balance off within the month if used. For those that do still carry a credit card, can you suggest a good one/s to get?

What airline do you fly the most and what hotel chain do you frequent? There are tons of auctions. Some are airline, hotel specific and some aren't.

If you are just going to use one card then you should get both chase freedom and chase sapphire preferred. The credit card thread below has tons of good info

Get an American Express green card and forget about all the nickel and dime reward points. Use your debit card for everything else.
