Pocic/boutte

I really would rather have Vadal back at LG and Pocic out at RT. But either way, this line will be very good.

I still think Brumfield takes Boutte later on. IMO Vadal and Brumfield should be the guards with Pocic and Hawkins on the outside and Clapp in the middle, but I like the setup we had in the SG as well.

Boutte gonna be a monster.

What has Brumfield done that makes you think he will take Bouttes spot later on? A lot of people are unfamiliar with Boutte and seem to disregard him. He appeared in every game last year and in 8 games as a true freshman. Lael Collins loves him and said he's the strongest guy on the team, extremely hard worker, and has all the ability in the world. Plus Boutte plays with a mean streak. He was our top backup OL last year and can play both OT and OG. Boutte is going to be a very good player for us.

And nothing against Brum, he's gonna be a good player for us as well. But he was 1 of the few players that redshirted last year and I don't see him going from not playing / red shirting to jumping Boutte in just a few months. And Malone will probably be the top backup OL and not sure Brum jumps him either. His time will come though, just has to bide his time, stay patient, and get better.... Just like a lot of OL do.

Exactly. Teuhema has "Patrick Peterson / Leonard Fournette" type potential. He may just show up in August, and and force our coaches to find a place for him in the starting lineup.

Saw Maea and his mom in the bookstore before the SG. He is one HUGE man. Was really surprised by how lean he was for an OT, but still a monster.

It's gonna be nice to have quality depth. Some other studd freshman coming as well. As physical as we play, it's much needed.

Not doubting his ability but OL is the toughest position in CFB to transition from HS to college. Plus he would be competing with some of the best linemen in the conference. Seriously, from what I saw yesterday, if you start on this OL, you are really damn good.

Boutte got most all of the reps at RG yesterday and looked good. I think Pocic starts at Center.

I hope you are correct. But out of Boutte', Clapp, and Brumfield - there's not a single college start under their belt. Whether or not they are among the best linemen in the entire SEC is still unproven.

Similar to prison, to move up the ladder on the 1st day, you've got to whip someone's arse. And he would have to whip some big and strong asses.

CC sure thinks so. He's stated publicly that Boutte has the potential to be a great one. Les commented yesterday that once he gets his footwork ironed out, which he's been doing this spring, he was going to be hard to handle inside. With Tuehema and those other maulers coming to town this summer, the '15 team may be the deepest(talent-wise) LSU OL since the '07 squad which had several future pros on it. Good problems to have.

My concern is at center...didn't get a chance to see game...did anyone focus in on Clapp...how'd he do...

Capp did just fine against the likes of Herron and Gilmore inside. Dodd had to go up against LaCouture and Godchaux and didn't look quite as good which is understandable. With Pocic's ability to play center, the coaches appear to have more options there than last season. Overall, with the young lions coming in this summer, I'd say the entire line looks to be deeper than it has been in years.

I think the same, but I'm not being paid $4 mil to coach this team. Seems like a line of (left to right) of Hawkins, Vadal, Clapp/Dodd, Boutte & Pocic seems pretty strong.

Actually, I think Hawkins & Pocic should flip, but I'm sure Hawkins was promised LT to stay
