My sister has a Great Pyrenees that is just over a year old. Went into labor at 7 am and is still going. 13 are out and there is at least 1 more in her. All 13 that are out are in good health. I have never seen a dog have so many. Nor heard it in the first litter. Anyone else have a dog that birthed this many pups? Were they all this healthy?

Seems like it would been have crammed in there....

kind of odd that she is white, but most all of the pups are black...do they change color?

I have a Boerboel from South Africa and he was part of his mother's first litter. She had 17 puppies and all of them survived. Pretty amazing.

Young for breeding. Not an uncommon litter size.

What's the dad? Anatolian?

We have no idea. They have 9 acres so they let her roam and there were way more than one suitor. My sister said that she never saw her with a black dog either. Whatever it is, I'm going to assume it is at least a certain size dog to have mated with her. A Chihuahua isn't gonna get it done.

Not full blooded, luckily for me. If they were full I would be getting one, couldn't help myself. I have 2 dogs already and a son on the way. Don't need a pup.

Looks like she got knocked up by a Boston Terrier. A very determined Boston Terrier.

If you can post pictures of the pups in a couple of weeks, I might be interested.
Some of those pups look like Kangal pups. Their genes usually are dominate over the PYR
