I've never understood the recent need to overhype black confederate service. I can only conclude it is a reaction to the overhyping of black union service.

Well Ole War I think it's because a lot enlightened members of society come out and say slavery was an evil only ever practiced here in the South by only evil white men on blacks. We know that the majority of this true but there was also black and Indian slave owners during that time as well as pointing out slavery around the world and it just clashes with their narrative and drives them insane resulting in fits of derogatory rage and insult trading.

Also there were blacks who served the Confederate army but a small an minuscule number and mostly as cooks and servants. However that notion is poison to these people. I also think it has to do with the discussion of the Civil War itself. It's a fascinating topic of American History and a huge event in our nation, however when discussing it with these people derails the conversation into the evils of whites, slavery and reparations and how anyone from the south should be hung for treason. It kind of shows the hate and venom of people from the North and Northeast and maybe why the war started in the first place lol.

If Foul is an example of what passes for a teacher today, that would explain failing schools. And to think he considers himself a professional.

Normally the person making the claim (particularly a claim of which 99% of experts in the field discredit) provides the proof.

Frederick Douglass-
It is now pretty well established, that there are at the present moment many colored men in the Confederate army doing duty not only as cooks, servants and laborers, but as real soldiers, having muskets on their shoulders, and bullets in their pockets, ready to shoot down loyal troops, and do all that soldiers may to destroy the Federal Government and build up that of the traitors and rebels. There were such soldiers at Manassas, and they are probably there still. There is a Negro in the army as well as in the fence, and our Government is likely to find it out before the war comes to an end.

We already covered this check out Balzacks post a page or two back. Again this has been covered in many threads. Yet you and others continually cite this.

Yes, people still try to discount it. All they are doing is spinning it to fit their own narrative of what they think ought to be true.
