283 entrants as of Captains Meeting. The water is super dirty but plenty of people caught flounder today. Sharks in the area as well. Weather forecast has improved for tomorrow.

Here...I overestimated this whole sleeping in my truck thing. So I'm just going to drink beer until I fall asleep or my alarm goes off.

All good. Set an alarm for 3 and woke up to pretty heavy rain and lightning. Definitely going to wait until this stuff passes.

What time is weigh in? Buddy of mine just texted me. He's got a 3lb trout and a flounder. Needs a red to complete the slam.

It's at Topwater in Leeville but you could fish from golden meadow to Grand Isle.

Weigh in is from 3pm to 4pm.

I lost what would have been a nice flounder, caught 2 small specs, no reds. I'm not even going to bother weighing in, I need a nap.

Did it rain the whole time. I got one text from my buddy. Figured he was getting wet most of the day. Waiting to hear from him.

Yea it practically rained all day. From 3am-6am was the worst of it and after that was intermittent showers and occasional lightning/thunder. In the wind and rain my Frogg Toggs became useless.

It's all good, I had beer. All was well.

I'll probably make the next one but I don't know when/where it is. Doing tournaments makes me fish places I've never fished before so I'm ok with that.

I like tourney fishing, but I also like to meat haul. Last time I fished Palooza, I cleaned fish for about an hour and took a gallon bag of reds home. I sure as hell wasn't going home empty handed.

I fished today, caught a few small flounder, but nothing else... Didn't even go to weigh-in. Even though the rain and wind kicked my arse, being on the water makes it all worthwhile

Never fished the area in a kayak before. Caught a 14" trout and a good red around 7. Waiting on the weigh in to see if I placed in the top 5 for big red

In a weird twist, I think redfish were the hard to find species.

I didnt weigh in. I wouldnt be surprised if there were 20+ slams.

Weather wasnt that bad. I get wetter from paddle drip than all day in rain, in raingear.

My buddy missed the slam by a red. Had a nice flounder and a leaderboard speck. Worse part is he ended up missing weigh-in by about ten minutes while trying to find that red. Sucks for him. Oh well. They'll be more tourneys.

fished it.

Weather was ridiculously bad leading up to 5am. . . completely ruined my gameplan!

Had that nice window from 6-10 before the other storms came through, but instead of using that time looking for reds, I went after trout. The lightning kept me close to the truck once those storms started rolling through and into the afternoon. And by that time, all I could find were shorts; must have caught 10+ reds that were all just shy of 16"

Caught plenty of trout though!

I guess it depended on the area you were in. I had no trouble catching reds. Only caught one trout and searched 5 hours for a flounder with no luck.
