Did you use a curing agent on top to slow down the cure? Some of those will stain the concrete.

It's not nearly hot enough for that yet

I'm not tech savvy at all. I know how to post a pic from the Internet on here but how do you upload the pic to a website to get the URL?

Was it a fly ash mix with air entrainment which happened to be covered with poly after the concrete was set up?

Yeah but curing compounds shouldn't stain it brown. You might end up with inconsistent shades of gray. Brown stains leads me to believe a couple of possibilities.
- It was raining during the placement, and they didn't protect it post floating, so you might have light aggregate showing.
- You've got red dirt, and it was washed into the top layer because of dirty tools, rain, etc.
- they put mesh in it and just wet set it, so you might have re steel rust showing.

Here's a link to a list of free file sharing websites: LINK

But seriously, I would hold the contractor that poured the driveway accountable. If it was an issue with the mix then it's his place to deal with the concrete company. But from the input so far, it sounds like something was not done correctly in finishing process.

Here's the pic...

Where the brown and gray are divided is the exact line where the concrete was different shades of gray when it was first laid. Makes me think it's almost certain there was somehow something wrong with the concrete that turned brown.

Also, I haven't done anything to it.

Ground slag used as aggregate

Did your guy say anything about trying a 1% muriatic acid clean?

wow, the finisher had no comment as it was finished out? seems like that would have been obvious as it was being poured out

Looks like it rained and dirt washed over it from your sod before it cured.

Sometimes you can get aggregate with a higher iron content or if it is a truck or mixer that hasn't been used in a while rust can mix in the concrete.

If any drives on hwy 73 in prairieville by the interstate I did some concrete patching there. Several of the patches have turned brown. The concrete is fine, it just doesn't look good.

Look up bridge cote. It's extra cost but it's a paint that'll last forever.

Wow, that is really fricked up. If the contractor can't fix it, then I would at least ask them to stain the driveway a consistent color or sue them for damages. Sheesh.

It's in the mix and has nothing to do with the finish. Not on the contractor but on the concrete company.

That's pretty consistent to be a bad truck. To have the last little bit there doesn't lead me to believe it was at a truck separation.

OP, raise holy hell with the contractor. Whether it's finishing or bad mix, there is no planet where a finish like that is acceptable.
