I'm sure many of you already knew this was going to happen on the 17th. I was at the game tonight and the one Monday and was fortunate to see him hit is LAST AAA home run against the Z's.

He also happens to be my rookie keeper on my fantasy team as well.

Does 22/75/.275 sounds reasonable for his first season as a Cub?

He will get his fair share of hits but I honestly can't see him having a 30+ HR in his first full season. He also strikes out a lot and there is a lot of good pitching in the central this year.

So he asked if .275 was reasonable his first year. I don't think it is. Not a big deal.

Just because I'm dumb, why are his expectations so low for batting average? ESPN projected him for .260 and nobody in here seems to think he's capable of hitting .275... But I mean he hit .328 in the minors.

I know the majors are a whole different story, but .328 is awesome. That average makes me think I should expect him to hit for a good batting average. Am I just supposed to expect every guy who gets called up to hit .260 or lower? Wouldn't this be one of the few guys I would expect to actually do well?

He will strike out a good bit. Bryant has always been drooled over for his 80 raw power. He is just so fricking good that he can hit for a high average in the Minors. He will not be able to do it versus MLB pitching.

In today's game, .260 is not bad. The average Major League BA is like .250. I think .275 is certainly possible, but unlikely.

There are a billion players who dominate the minors and struggle at the show.

Because he isn't going to run anywhere near a .400 BABIP in the majors.

It's just part of the MLB learning curve. For example, Chipper Jones is a career .300 hitter and he hit .265 his rookie year. Jones is a better hitter than Bryant, but Bryant is by far has more power. In a few years .275 would be realistic, but not a rookie season. He could buck the trend, it's just not expected as much as he strikes out.
