The collective work of these guys is amazing. Rarely get the glory, but just seem to show up and make every damn movie better. There's more I'm forgetting, but just a little homage to these dudes.

*favorite roles (obvious JK aside) probably

Harris: Apollo, and Arkin: Little Miss Sunshine

I guess Alan Arkin is a character actor now, but he's had a lot of leading roles, too.

Yeah He's been in so many things.

**And Ed Harris is borderline leading man, but I couldn't leave him off.

Arkin

True that. Slums is one of my favorite films. More recently, Million Dollar Arm has been on like Starz or whatnot and he has a predictably solid role in it, too.

I'm good, but would trade for any of these careers.

So does Arkin, pretty much. They're just always money. Duvall does more leads, but sure. When he's a supporting role he pretty much wins everything.

Duval? That's stretching the definition of "character actor" too far. I mean, the guy's in the discussion for top 25 male actors of all time.

Good one. Always dug that he both trolled the network in Man on the Moon and got trolled by the talent Private Parts.

Another always likeable guy

The In-Laws is the greatest comedy in the history of the world and that is not an exaggeration.
