It's removable, but a proprietary form factor. So, right now you are basically stuck with what you get from Apple. OWC might sell some in the future.

I'll keep an eye out at OWC. Looks like the newest MBP they have SSD's for is early 2013.

this is one thing I hate about macs, their OS is great, they build beautiful looking machines, but their hardware is usually behind the field, they aren't upgradable in anyway. With the exception of the mac pro, which is 3000+ for the most basic line. Most people don't need a pro though except professionals who probably want to be able to fix their own machines anyway.

That looks like a pretty sweet laptop. It's unfortunate it will be wasted on OSX.
