For all you Mac folks, they've recently killed of iPhoto and the new Photos app has taken its place. It resembles the mobile version in the latest iOS more which I like. It's actually usable and does't lag with everything you try to do. It's very snappy. I've imported from various mediums such as hard drive, my iPhone, or CD's and it automatically enters it in the catalogue in data order (with a place description as well if possible.)

My whole photo collection from 2010-2015 was updated all within a few hours and it's now searchable and organizable through and through. Now all I have to do is dump my phone pics in every other month or so and it will automate everything else.

No. You can go to Mission Control and long click on the icon then click the X to delete it.

I guess you don't have an iPhone? Never mind, I guess you don't want to pay for the iCloud storage?

My only problem with moving everything to iCloud Photos was my Photos app on my iPhone got hung up a few times uploading and downloading all my pictures from/to my iPhone. I had to turn off iCloud Photos each time it got hung up and turn it back on. Finally, yesterday I turned off iCloud Photos, did a hard reset, then turned the phone back on. Within a few hours everything had resolved itself and now I have ALL of my pics and videos across all devices, both natively and on the web.

As far as the Mac Photos app., very snappy. Now I'm hoping Faces comes back to the iOS Photos app in 9.0.

I actually do. I saw the new feature where you can have all your pics automatically put in the cloud. But, I only want the 20GB/month right now. And I want my phone pics to be organized along with other pics I have. I'd have to waaaaaaaaaaaaay up my storage considering right now I've got about 12k pics and 150 videos just from the last three/four years or so. I really only use my actual cloud space right now for phone backups.

Gotcha. I got the 200 GB. My pics are sitting at just a hair under 60 GB. Wish there was a 100 GB tier.

I'm loving the new app only thing is I have to clear up some space on my phone to get it to fit everything.

yes I do optimized storage and have iCloud photos running. Thumbnails take up space when you have thousands of pictures in your library.

I decided to clear my phone out last night, and I thought it was a decent experience. It's about as painless as transferring photos can be.
