Time to stop the dreaming and wishing (I know it's hard for me too). It's pretty much a done deal to UK/MSU/ or overseas. Lots of speculation that he won't even sign a LOI. He has zero interest in anything other than playing professionally. This is why they should be able to go pro out of high school. He will be mostly a distraction at any school; which is why UK or MSU make more sense than LSU. At UK obviously they basically have an NBA farm system, and at MSU he will be able to shoot 30 times a game with no consequences because they have nothing to lose.

I think it is going MSU's way. Yesterday, recruiting news services announced UK to offer a JUCO SG out of Vincennes, IN. I took this to mean two things. UK has abandoned Newman and Jaylon Brown is signing. The services have said Brown and Newman are not going to the same place - two alpha dogs.
Also, Howland was Russell Westbrook's former coach. Newman will have the MSU team all to himself. And his dad is really big on MSU.

He reminds me of the Lance Stephenson recruitment. Stephenson, like Malik Newman, had no interest in playing college ball. His recruitment and leans and favorites were all of the place.
First, it was a tossup with Kansas and St. John's. Then, it became Maryland. Then, it was back to St. John's. All of a sudden, then it was to Arizona. Then, Memphis hopped into the mix. And who did he end up signing with…Cincinnati. He was a 1 and done.
Although he's a superb player, in the end, I'm not so sure this is the guy Jones and LSU really needs.

I'm starting to think he winds up at msu, sad a kid of his talent goes there. In the end I think his dad wins out. Hopefully we wind up with sampson and a transfer.

What is causing people to think he is a msu lean now? Was there a recent article or recent quotes from him, or is it just gut feeling?

When a kid of his caliber keeps his recruitment this quiet and takes no officials..it means he knows where he is going and has known for awhile.
And unless he hates Mississippi and is trolling the shite out of them, he is only creating hype around his recruitment just to pick the hometown team and be the savior.
